Growing up people joked that I'd use my International Relations degree to weave baskets or build houses in foreign countries, while my big sister Jessica Rhodes would be ruling a PR firm from a Manhattan corner office... oh my how everyone was wrong about both of us. We both do neither. Where our work does overlap: relentless client centricity, and working behind the scenes. And that is where the similarities end. My clients are in the business of making money, with the hope of some positive impact along the way. Jessica's clients are mission first, non-profits whose only reason for being are making a real and lasting impact in people's lives. Her work has brought so much joy to our family's life--volunteering at Make-A-Wish North Texas races and events, attending galas, delivering meals for In My Shoes, Inc.--the list is long and we treasure those memories and opportunities. Watching her is where I learned resilience and what hard work actually looks like, you know those thankless tasks done when no one is watching, and those early mornings, weekends, and late nights spent bent over a keyboard or at a venue. I am always in awe of how she has managed to do what we all crave: align her skillset, passion and job to making the world a better place.
