Chadwick K. Landry is President and Executive Director of CAGLA. Chad has over 20 years of experience working in the finance industry. He began his career working for 3 years as a financial analyst in Enron North America’s Power Private Equity Group in Houston, Texas. He spent the next fourteen years working as Senior Institutional Equity Research Salesman for Capital One Southcoast and Iberia Capital Partners. In this role, he advised hedge funds and mutual funds on equity trading strategies associated with the Energy, Industrials, Utilities, and Consumer Sector(s) of the U.S. economy. Chad is currently the Managing Member and a Portfolio Manager at Poydras Capital Partners which is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) based in Metairie, Louisiana. Chad holds a B.S. in Finance from Louisiana State University. He also currently holds his Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses. Chad lives in Metairie, Louisiana. He spends his free time reading, running, traveling, boxing, and raising money for his local cancer nonprofit organization the New Orleans Lympho-Maniac Cancer Fund.

Oh, what an evening at Copeland Tower! CAGLA's board of trustees and scientific advisory board members held a thrilling quarterly meeting! The best part? We had speakers from Rise St. James who shared their inspiring stories battling the Petrochemical Industry in Cancer Alley! Led by Sharon Lavigne, 2021’s Goldman Environmental Prize winner, Rise St. James galvanized community opposition and successfully defeated the construction of a $1.25 billion plastics manufacturing plant in 2018. CAGLA and Rise St. James hope to collaborate in the future in an effort to create new Cancer prevention and early detection programs to treat the current residents in both St. John and St. James parishes. We're in full swing planning the 2025 CAGLA NeauxCancer Conference, happening 3/27 - 3/29 at the Roosevelt Hotel, New Orleans. Dr. Marc Matrana and I had an opportunity today to represent Cancer Advocacy Group of Louisiana at the Biden Cancer Moonshot Initiative event at Tulane in New Orleans. At this event President Biden announced that Dr Brown (Tulane Cancer Research/Lead Investigator) is the recipient of a $23 Million Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) grant which is a Biden cancer initiative. Dr Brown’s research is looking at a device he developed that assesses real time pathology specimen margins. This is groundbreaking in that the device can potentially give surgeons more information about their resection margins during the operation. This would allow surgeons to have better intraop decision making hopefully reducing local recurrence rates. #BidenCancerMoonshot #CaglaStrong
