A new blood test, called a liquid biopsy, has been revealed as a breakthrough in preventing breast cancer recurrence. It can predict if breast cancer will return years before the disease shows up on scans. Piloted alongside NHS clinicians in the UK, Mia analyzed mammograms from over 10,000 women, flagging all symptomatic breast cancer cases and identifying 11 additional cases missed by doctors. Trained on a dataset of 6,000 cases, Mia achieved an accuracy of 81.6% in predicting cancer. This breakthrough could transform early detection and personalized care in breast cancer treatment. At this year’s American Urological Association Annual Meeting, #MyTeam and I have gotten the opportunity to participate in insightful conversations about scientific innovation in genitourinary cancers. Today, new data in high-risk localized prostate cancer (HR LPC) from Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine will be presented. #ProstateCancer is one of the most common cancers among American men. Sadly, many men with prostate cancer will experience recurrence within a few years.
