Happy Friday Folks. This shoutout is filled with emotion, as each story about a Founder's journey highlights the pivotal roles played by those who initially supported and believed in a vision to connect people with all their financial and Coinbase accounts and allow money movement between them all. That was the old business that kicked off this consumer-based mobile app with a paid subscription model delivered from the app stores. I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to Anne-Jeanette LeBell for embracing this daring idea at its inception—a concept that ultimately linked financial accounts through Plaid and Coinbase, enabling seamless money movement via Dwolla with Onfido for identity verification with biometrics, and also crafting a user experience that transcended multiple banking platforms for the benefit of the customer. Though that initial business and model didn't pan out as expected, facing challenges of timing, funding, and navigating through a pandemic, her early support was invaluable during such a tumultuous time. It takes immense courage for any startup founder to embark on such audacious endeavors, and Anne-Jeanette's willingness to take risks deserves the highest praise. 🙏 Furthermore, I am deeply thankful for the fortuitous encounter with Sandeep Kumar Sood, who also took a leap of faith co-developing to market for the older company. His company, Kunai, a software engineering powerhouse, demonstrated unwavering support and expertise in helping us navigate through time-to-market constraints, knowledge, engineering, drawing from a team of exceptional individuals, some of whom I had the pleasure of working with previously at Capital One. 🤝 Props to Dario Orlando for believing in us too. 🙌 I’m hopeful to be in a place to return these risky favors one day. What I've learned the hard way is that when you think something is done, it can change at any moment in this market.
