Debate education is proven to increase high school graduation rates and achievement in both middle and high school. In a 2023 study on the impact of debate, a Harvard researcher concluded: “These results provide policymakers a rare promising program for reducing inequality in reading achievement, analytical thinking skills, and educational attainment among middle and high school students.
