Last Saturday, Canon Singapore, in partnership with Singapore Bowling Federation, organised Strike for Smiles 2024, a fundraiser event dedicated to helping children and athletes in need. Over 150 participants enjoyed a first ever cosmic bowling activity at the event. 🎳 A grand total of $40,000 was raised thanks to the generous contributions from members of the bowling community and their friends. The raised funds raised will go to the Singapore Children’s Society (SCS) and the One Team Singapore Fund. The Guest of Honor at the event, Ms Grace Fu, President of the Singapore National Olympic Committee, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, presented a cheque of $28,888 to Ms. Joy Lim, Director of Sunbeam Place at the Singapore Children’s Society. This collaboration is in line with Canon’s corporate philosophy of kyosei, a philosophy that sees Canon dedicated resources towards living and working together harmoniously for all people regardless of culture, customs, language or race. What is 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 (DACT)? 🤔 I posted an appeal for raffle prize donations for our 𝐃𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥 a few days ago, and thought I should also share some insight into the work the charity does! 💫 𝐃𝐀𝐂𝐓 awards grants to pupils/students who attend or have attended Delta Academies Trust Academies, and assists them in meeting one of the following criteria: 🏆 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 🌍 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 💼 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 The key objective is to develop 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. Just a few examples of what the charity has been able to financially support... 🏕 Theo was selected to represent Humberside at the 25th 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐞 in South Korea, and was required to fundraise to attend. 🎶 Olivia qualified for the 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐩 2023 in Braga, Portugal. DACT funding helped towards travel and entry fees. 🏒 Wilson selected to represent Great Britain for Ball Hockey in the Under 16s 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 held in Czechia in 2023. We’re thrilled to partner with the charity Love of the Game for the third consecutive year for an event in October alongside Holland & Holland, championing concussion awareness in sports. We recently spoke with Simon Shaw, president of the charity and former rugby player, about their incredible work. Fritidsbanken, a non-profit organization in Sweden, has reached a milestone by making over one million sports and leisure equipment available for free in the last year. Fritidsbanken offers free rental of sports equipment for up to 14 days. The premises are filled with various items, from skis to ice skates. Fritidsbanken, founded in 2013, has spread throughout the country and now has 130 locations in 121 municipalities. The activity is made possible thanks to donations from private individuals, support from municipalities, as well as organizations such as Riksidrottsförbundet and the Kronprinsessan Victoria fund. During 2023, the number of loans tripled compared to the previous year, with over a million items loaned. The popularity of Fritidsbanken is associated with greater awareness of the organization, care for the environment and an increase in the cost of living for families. Although Fritidsbanken's main goal is to promote physical and it has a positive impact on the environment by extending the life of used items and reducing waste. #scandinavia #sweden

We are one week into our #25for25 campaign, and you’ve helped us raise $11,000 in additional funds to write Grants for racers in 2025 so far! 🙌🏻 Did you know that of the 66 billion global sports sponsorship market, less than 10% goes to female Athletes?
