Dealership hiring managers, just an FYI.... Before you blow off that "job hopper", consider a few things. Were they striving to improve their situation and skillset? Did they discover a niche as a turnaround specialist? Used car guru? Trainer? How many dealers were bought out? How many dealers over promised about the job and couldn't deliver or changed pay plans mid-stream? There could be a myriad of other factors. I'm just saying, it might be worth a phone call before you delete that resume.

At the age of 18, I work at a sports warehouse selling cross-country skis. At the age of 20, I’m a lab assistant at a university in Finland. At the age of 24, I work as a product manager building smart homes helping physically challenged people live an independent life. At the age of 27, I lead the customer success team for Scandinavia’s largest satellite TV distributor. At the age of 29, I’m an account manager in a software company specializing in mobile & wireless tech. At the age of 31, I work as director of sales in a multinational software and design agency. At the age of 34, I’m a partner and director in a local software agency in Finland. At the age of 38, I launch a software company in Silicon Valley without any clients or employees in the United States. At the age of 45, I’m the Co-Founder and CEO of one of the most promising construction tech startups in the U.S. → This list came up in a recent conversation with a recent grad employee and I wanted to share it because: …we all have many careers behind us …most of us have many careers ahead of us …what you do today will make you smarter at the next thing you do …the rollercoaster ups&downs that will make you puke will also make you stronger at the next thing you do Here’s my advice.
