Cardiff is a great airport which I love using, but it’s simply not recovered from the loss of Flybe. It needs to rebalance itself from a charter airport to an airport that supports the business traveller and brings in tourists to Wales with a based scheduled airline. At the moment it’s a holiday maker airport. 2 scheduled domestic services one of which is highly unreliable and incredibly expensive.

Flying from Cardiff also means a great direct flight! When we used Bristol it turned out the TUI dreamliner couldn't take off with a full payload in the rain due to shorter runway so had to fuel up in Shannon 🙃
