We are pleased to share across the board improvements in our patients’ social risk scores in our ACO REACH program. These scores encapsulate the major factors that obstruct patients’ access to healthcare, like location, language barriers and ethnicity. Our data, based on assessments from 2022 through Q1 2024, shows that CareNu’s comprehensive approach to medical care addresses both physical health and the environmental factors that impact our patients’ day-to-day lives. At CareNu, we’re committed to health equity and are excited to be one step closer to our goal. To learn more about these transformative improvements, see the graphics below. #CareNuCares #CareNuIsNow #HealthEquity #SDOH #ACOREACH

Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Facilitator for R&I at Medway NHS Foundation Trust Research Nurse at Medway NHS Foundation Trust
Can you help Medway NHS Foundation Trust and Medway Community Healthcare improve their #research services? We looked at the ethnicities of those who took part in research in Medway and compared this to the ethnicities of Medway residents. We found most of the people who come forward to take part in our research are of white ethnicities and for all other ethnicities the numbers are low. We know that some ethnic groups are more likely to get certain health conditions. If those more at risk of conditions are not taking part in research, how do we know the research results will be right for the whole community? We want your opinions on how we can improve access to research for all. Go to https://lnkd.in/eEqMjs4i to help. #ResearchinMedway #BePartofResearch #NHS #Research #Ethnicity #Medway

Local news programme BBC South Today recently visited a wellbeing cafe in #Southampton, and we're thrilled to share the latest innovation in healthcare that's changing lives. Revolutionary Health Tech: People are now getting their blood pressure checked using cutting-edge technology that observes blood pressure, pulse rate, and breathing rate simply by looking into a smartphone or tablet camera. It's a game-changer for healthcare accessibility! The Impact: Cardiovascular disease, which encompasses conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels, is a major contributor to heart attacks and strokes. High blood pressure often serves as an indicator of this disease. Promoting Health Equity: Funded by NHS England and supported by Health Innovation Wessex, project teams are working diligently to identify areas of high deprivation and socially excluded groups in their communities. These groups frequently experience unjust health disparities, leading to poor health outcomes. Innovating for Equality: This initiative is part of NHS England's "Innovation in Healthcare Inequalities Programme (InHIP)." The goal? To ensure that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has equal access to high-quality, evidence-based care. 🔗 Read More: We invite you to dive deeper into this remarkable project focusing on equal access to high-quality healthcare. Click here: https://buff.ly/45A43Ia At Clinical24 England, we're proud to be part of this journey towards healthcare equality. We believe in making high-quality healthcare more accessible to those who need it. 💙 #HealthcareInnovation #HealthEquality #Clinical24England

💡Addressing Socioeconomic Challenges in IBD Care. In the pursuit of health equity, it's essential to recognize the socioeconomic challenges that underserved communities face in accessing IBD care. Here are 3 of many such challenges: 1. Delayed Diagnoses: African American and marginalized communities often face delays in IBD diagnosis due to disparities in healthcare access. 2. Access to Therapies: Economic and geographic barriers can limit access to the latest IBD treatments for these populations. 3. Telemedicine Barriers: Technological and policy issues may restrict the benefits of telehealth in underserved areas. ICYMI 20 years after Institute of Medicine published Unequal Treatment there is a new report, Ending Unequal Treatment, summarized by HealthAffairs. https://lnkd.in/eGMRBXiR Conclusion: “…the nation has made minimal progress over the past two decades in eliminating health and health care inequities.” How can there be progress in the current social/political environment? In a feudal society that amounts to #moderndayslavery for half the nation and a system lacking in #personcenteredcare #communitybasedcare #primarycare #diversity and focused on #profitsoverpeople ? #underfundingMedicaid #racisminmedicine #racisminhealthcare Ronald W. Today on National Rural Health Day, organizations and providers around the country acknowledge the unique challenges faced by rural communities, celebrate their vitality and resilience, and commit to improving healthcare access and outcomes for rural residents. A retrospective cohort study conducted by Marlene C. Lira, Cynthia Jimes, Ph.D., and M. Justin Coffey, MD, DFAPA, FANPA, CHCIO of Workit Labs, the research arm of Workit Health, was published in Telemedicine and e-Health. This study assessed retention in telehealth OUD treatment among over 1,800 rural patients, one of the largest studies of telehealth for rural Americans with OUD to date. Analysis found that at the three-month point, 62% of Workit Health's OUD members living in rural areas were retained in care. This compares to 50% three-month retention rates reported in extant studies on telemedicine-delivered OUD treatment among patients living in rural areas. Retention in treatment is associated with improved well-being and lower death rates. Workit Health is proud to serve our rural members, bringing evidence-based OUD treatment to them in their own communities. #nationalruralhealthday #ruralhealth #powerofrural https://lnkd.in/gHQ5kBgM
