Sue S. Chan is an expert marketer, brand builder, and all-around busy bee on the global food scene. She was Momofuku’s first brand director, and in this episode we go back to her time helping to build the David Chang empire (and figuring out how to tell DC what to do). I've known Sue for over 15 years and this is a tremendous episode!

Over the summer, Away invited media and friends of the brand to Public Hotel for the launch of their newest collection, Soft Side, a new line of flexible and lightweight luggage. The space was transformed for guests to experience the airport lounge of their dreams with plush furnishings, airy Japanese-style sandos, snowy slushies, and a shoppable market where they could create their own custom amenity kit. Thank you to PUBLIC, an Ian Schrager Hotel for being a gracious host, Doladira and Postcard Bakery for providing the tasty food and refreshing beverages, Entriken for the florals, and Paper Mache Monkey, Devlin's Consulting, Taylor Creative Inc., and New York Embroidery Studio for all of their additional help. Major shoutout to the Care of Chan team that worked on this project: Chavaughn Raines, Ruby Elmhirst, and Zach Marshall. 📸 ℅ Christian Rodriguez

J.Crew kicked off #NYFW with an unforgettable evening at the The New York Public Library, celebrating the return of their beloved print catalog with an equally iconic restaurant revival. For one night only, the brand transformed the Celeste Bartos Forum into the infamous uptown institution La Côte Basque, an with chefs Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr (of Frenchette, Le Rock, and Le Veau d'Or fame) breathing new life into a menu of French fine dining classics, while a 12-piece band led by Tony DeSare filled the room with live jazz. After enjoying their main course, guests were treated to a surprise set by Anika Noni Rose, followed by a parade of desserts including macaron pyramids, tiered platters of mignardises, and profiteroles with sauce au chocolat, poured tableside. A special thank you to David Stark Design, Olivier Cheng Catering and Events, Victoria James, Lee Hanson, Riad Nasr, and our Care of Chan team: Afoma M., Catalina Candelario, Dani Dillon, Jake Stavis, Laila Costello, Marci DeLozier Haas, Meaghan Sause Weiss, and Olivia Johnson. Last week, Alexa Chung returned to New York to debut her new @Madewell collection with a swingin' party at the iconic Waverly Inn. The internet's OG it girl celebrated her second collab with the brand and treated 60+ partygoers to a generous spread of culinary delights. From tuna tartare to bananas flambé and champagne towers, Alexa and Madewell pulled all the stops for their guests. The party was filled with festive cheer and lively conversation as guests danced the night away and snapped endless black and white photo booth pictures. Platters of Camel Blues were passed around, and engraved zippo lighters as keepsakes to commemorate the clothing collection. A special thank you to the Waverly Inn for hosting this event, Entriken for the florals, and DJs Harley Newton and Paul Sevigny for the music. We also can't thank our team of magicians enough: Dani Dillon, Chavaughn Raines, Esther Robinsun-Abrams, Jonah Reynolds, Marci DeLozier Haas, and Olivia Johnson. 📸 ℅ BFA & Dani Dillon

A multi-city food tour is not for the faint of heart. Resy teamed up with Unapologetic Foods, the award-winning group behind New York hot spots Dhamaka, Semma, and more, to create the Unapologetic Experience, a three-stop tour celebrating the multi-faceted brilliance of American cuisine across the country. The series kicked off on the West Coast in Los Angeles at Anajak Thai, then made its way to Chicago at Middle Eastern restaurant Galit, before finally heading back East Coast to Tiger Fork in D.C.. Each stop offered two days of experiences with collaborative menus, crafted in partnership with Chef Chintan Pandya of Unapologetic Foods. Day one immersed guests in street eats, and day two featured a seated dinner, complimented by a fireside chat with the head chef and Chef Chintan. At every location, American Express cardmembers enjoyed extra treats ranging from a take-home spice box to complimentary mango lassi shakes. Thank you to our team who worked their magic to make this happen: Afoma M., Alexandra Stylianos Kelewae, Dani Dillon, Gabrielle Domingo, Jaade Wills, Jake Stavis, Joanne Afable, Lucy Angel Camarena, Maggie Russell, Marci DeLozier Haas, Olivia Johnson, Sue S. Chan, Zach Marshall

Good friends, good food, great vibes filled the air at the "The Bear" season three premiere party. Care of Chan curated an unforgettable culinary experience on the backlot at the historic El Capitan theater last June. We tapped into our network of top chefs and restaurants who inspired the show or served as culinary advisors to bring together an all-star lineup, including talent from Chicago and LA. With 11 incredible partners, we put together the ultimate party spread for 300+ guests and best of all, without a single line. A special thank you to Bespoke Boheme for overseeing the design and production behind this event along with The Copper Key for catering. And of course, we couldn't have done this without our amazing team: Afoma M., Alexandra Stylianos Kelewae, Bianca Flores, Dani Dillon, Gabrielle Domingo, Jake Stavis, Maggie Russell, Meaghan Weiss, Olivia Johnson, Sue S. Chan, and Zach Marshall

Last month, J.Crew celebrated their latest collaboration with downtown designer Maryam Nassir Zadeh with an event that captured the essence of summer in the city. Friends of the brand were invited aboard the Mariner III for a sunset cruise around New York Harbor hosted by J.Crew creative director Olympia Gayot and Maryam Nassir Zadeh herself. After setting sail, guests enjoyed an artful mezze spread by chef Shauna Saneinejad of Joon Eats, followed by a delicious three-course dinner, with sweeping views of the New York skyline and the Statue of Liberty. These photo moments were rivaled only by a showstopper dessert: Peak summer peach melbas by Mina Park of Ninety-Nine. Thanks so much to our all-star team in bringing this one to life: Afoma M., Alexandra Stylianos Kelewae, Dani Dillon, Emily Strange, Esther Robinsun-Abrams, Isabella Pinzon Guzman, Jake Stavis, Maggie Russell, Marci DeLozier Haas, Olivia Johnson, Sue S. Chan, and Zach Marshall 📸 ℅ Morgan Connellee
