On this Juneteenth, ChangeTheWealth.org commemorates the day in 1865, when freedom finally reached all enslaved African Americans. This day marks a critical moment in the fight for equality. Since that day, however, significant obstacles have continued to prevent wealth-building in Black communities. Promises of reparations like '40 Acres and a Mule' were broken….the Freedman's Bank, established to help freed slaves build financial security, failed and left many in financial ruin….and the more recent practice of Redlining systematically denied Black families the opportunity to own homes and build generational wealth. As we honor the past, ChangeTheWealth.org is dedicated to addressing these injustices and fostering economic empowerment for a more equitable future. Together, let’s continue the journey towards true economic freedom and justice for all. Together, let’s Change the Wealth! #Juneteenth #EconomicEmpowerment #ChangeTheWealth

Dear Community and State Representatives, We at the Dock Ellis Foundation are reaching out to highlight a pressing issue that affects the very fabric of our society – the underfunding of organizations dedicated to locating missing persons and supporting minority-focused communities. Every day, we witness the systemic challenges that hinder our efforts to bring awareness to the violence against black and brown individuals. These are not just statistics; they are our brothers, sisters, parents, and children whose stories are often left untold, whose voices are unheard. The lack of adequate funding severely limits our ability to operate and advocate for those who are most vulnerable. It's a struggle to shine a light on the marginalized when the resources we need are just beyond our reach. We call upon our state representative, [Tag State Representative], to champion this cause. We need leaders who will fight for systemic change, ensuring that all organizations like ours have the necessary support to continue our vital work. Our voices matter. Every person deserves to feel valued, seen, and heard. It's time for action, for commitment, and for solidarity. Let's work together to ensure that adequate funding is allocated to continue the work that honors the dignity of every individual. With hope and determination, The Dock Ellis Foundation #OurVoicesMatter #FundOurFight #SystemicChange

Procurement Specialist & Program Manager | Expert in Project Coordination and Strategic Procurement Solutions
It's easy to point out what's wrong in the world. We judge, we complain, we talk about how things should be different. But how many of us have actually stepped up to make that change? How many of us have volunteered our time, initiated community projects, or taken any real action to address the issues we criticize? The truth is change doesn't start with words—it starts with action. If we're not willing to be part of the solution, do we really have the right to complain? It's time we stop waiting for someone else to fix the problems we see and start being the change we want to see in our communities. Let's challenge ourselves to do more than just talk. Volunteer at a local association, organize a community cleanup, mentor someone who needs guidance—whatever it is, let's make a difference. Because when we take action, we not only create the change we want to see, we inspire others to do the same.

This year has been tough for people of color. At the beginning of the year, Stephen Miller, representing America First Legal, filed lawsuits targeting non-profits whose mission is to help minorities grow their businesses. Each of these lawsuits was aimed at slowing down the progress of communities that have worked so hard to build themselves up. Thankfully, we won every single one of those battles. But it hasn’t been without its challenges. We lost the fight for affirmative action, and we came close to losing the 8a program, which has been a lifeline for so many minority businesses. The truth is, despite these setbacks, diversity in government contracting is here to stay. With $1.9 trillion in annual spending, it’s more important than ever that minority and small business owners get their fair share. This fight is personal. It’s about more than contracts—it’s about creating opportunities, building legacies, and ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table. We will keep moving forward, no matter the challenges. #GovernmentContracting #SmallBusiness #DiversityMatters #MinorityOwned #KeepPushing #WeRiseTogether #InclusiveEconomy

President Sikeston Missouri American Slaves, Inc. National executive council. media, marketing, entertainment,, chairman.
Reconstructing the lost paper trail of slavery is a job for business-minded visionaries because documentation that supported slavery was intentionally destroyed. It would take a visionary with a business mentality to envision what the result of racial discrimination, cultural depression, and lack of leadership would do to a people that were programmed to be ignorant and left in that state for four-hundred years. Keep in mind that from the very beginning, white slave masters injected their blood (spermatozoa) into the American slave culture at will. If we compared cultures, what would that people look like today? America is a paperwork society. American slaves have no paper trail. There is nothing to compare. As a result, we just see a bunch of multicolored people among us who don't know who they are. My first task was to bridge that gap by constructing a paper trail. I started the paper trail by incorporating a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation that can accept contractual donations to finance American slaves' venture to the economic battlefield. Community arts funding is essential!
A really concerning vote is happening on Thursday. After cancelling the funding for the Public Art Program, now there is a vote to cut funding to community grant recipients. Of particular importance (to me and many others), is Art City; a wildly important and necessary organization. These community organizations are what makes our city better, and provide children the opportunity to access a safe space and creative outlets. Sharing this here so if you feel as passionate about this organization as I know many colleagues already do, find a way to show support. Winnipeg can’t afford to lose this space. 🖼️🌇
