Ferrari's first electric car will cost at least 500,000 euros ($535,000), a source familiar with the matter told Reuters, as the luxury automaker prepares to open a plant that will make the model - and could boost group production by up to a third. The Italian brand, famed for its roaring petrol engines, has said it will launch an electric car late next year, and the planned price shows its confidence that ultra-wealthy drivers are ready for it, even as mass-market rivals are slashing electrical vehicle (EV) prices amid faltering demand. The price tag, which doesn't include features and personal touches that typically add 15-20%, is well above the average sale price of around 350,000 euros, including extras, for a Ferrari in the first quarter of this year, and many rival luxury EVs. #Milano #Italy #Ferrari #first #EV #car #on #the #market #to #go #for500000euros

Less is More... In 2023, Volvo Cars sold ~52 times as many cars as Ferrari, 709K vs. 13.7K units. Looking at revenue, Volvo Cars generated €35.3B, which is ~6x more than Ferrari's €6B. Interestingly enough, despite the company's scale, Volvo Cars "only" generated €1.8B in EBIT (5%), compared to Ferrari's €1.6B (27%). " Alfa Romeo has decided to rename the Milano, the first electric car from the Italian brand, to Junior. " This is the Alfa Romeo Milano Junior, a new fully-electric crossover that promises to be ‘electric according to Alfa Romeo.’ Revealed in Milan, Italy, on 11 April, just four days later Alfa had to change its new model’s name to Junior, after objections from government officials infuriated that a car assembled in Poland was named after Italy’s second city. It’s a bizarre u-turn on the EV’s name, which was chosen by public vote. Alfa CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said: ‘We decided to change the name, even though we are not required to do so, because we want to preserve the positive emotion that our products have always generated and to avoid any controversy.’ The revised name is one from the Alfa back catalogue, originating on the 1966 GT 1300 Junior version of the Giulia. That’s part for the course when it comes to Stellantis: we had a similar degree of uncertainty when it came to the Jeep Avenger, which arrived as an EV first, but later added hybrid and petrol power. Alfa Romeo Junior (2024-present): This was the name originally chosen for Alfa Romeo's new electric compact SUV that was unveiled in April 2024. However, due to legal restrictions on the use of the name "Milano", Alfa Romeo was forced to rename the car the Alfa Romeo Junior shortly after its debu Alfa Romeo 75 (1985-1992): This was a compact executive car produced by Alfa Romeo. In North America, it was sold under the name Milano from 1987 to 1989. The Alfa Romeo 75 was known for its sporty handling and powerful engines. #AlfaRomeo #Junior #fullyelectric #Crossover #Milano #Stellantis

US immigration categories as car companies: -- H-1B = Toyota. Solid. Reliable. Nothing fancy. -- EB-1A = Ferrari. Definitely luxury. Generally out of reach of Toyota owners. Many people in California think they deserve one. Ferrari owners will let you know within 5 minutes of meeting them that they have a Ferrari. Their social media presence will make their Ferrari ownership very prominent. -- EB-1B = Mercedes. Definitely classic luxury. A no-brainer if you can get it. -- EB-1C = BMW. Yeah, it's luxury. A little tacky. The 2-series is like functional manager EB-1(C). Barely luxury but that guy thinks he has a Ferrari! -- EB-2 NIW = Tesla. Affordable luxury. Toyota owners could totally save up for it. -- F-1 = Kia. Sure, it's a car. But you would rather have a Toyota or definitely a Tesla. You embarrass yourself by asking around whether you can get a Ferrari on the cheap. ###
