I quite often get asked how hiring managers can ensure they are selecting the right candidate for their vacancy. Of course, as part of my role at re:find I always help with that process and only put forward suitable candidates - but, what then? How does the hiring manager choose? 10moI heard one method is to take the CV’s and throw half in the bin as no one wants to hire unlucky people.. haha. Seriously, I’ve found that when you have a great agency such as re:find Interim and Executive Search who provide great candidates who can adequately do the role AND know your business so are in-tune with your cultural fit, then it comes down to other areas such as ability to grow, personality and ensuring cognitive diversity needs are met. I was once part of a global LT where the leader of the group had hired in his own image and 12 of the 14 shared the same psychometric profile - we struggled! So cognitive diversity in my view is as important as any other representatation. Just my $0.02 worth from the other side of the fence.
