The 15-Minute City concept is about more than reducing car dependency—it's about fostering vibrant, resilient communities where essential services, work, and leisure are all within reach. This approach aims to create a new urban economy rooted in proximity and collective well-being. I invite you to explore these ideas further in my recent interview with Linkiesta https://lnkd.in/ee5QUHYN #15MinuteCity #UrbanPlanning #SustainableCities

Interesitng interview. It's important for people to read Carlos' book, now in multiple languages. The 15-minute city is not 'a cute slogan', it's transformative. Citizens and decision makers should think radically different about creating equitable and sustainable cities.

Today, at the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) conference, someone shared how as a child she biked to school (the only student or one of few). The next year the route to her new school was unsafe, although much closer, so she could no longer bike. Some twenty years later she still remembers and feels the negative impact of not being able to safely #walkrollbike and enjoy her neighborhood and independence.
