Is recycling a "waste" of time? With only 13.6% of U.S. plastics actually being recycled and businesses still opting for cheaper virgin plastic, it’s easy to question the effort. But the benefits of reducing landfill waste and driving a circular economy outweigh the risks and costs. Next up: Shifting the focus toward smarter recycling and sustainable solutions. 🌍 #sustainability #recycling #costvsbenefit

Think recycling is confusing? ♻️ That’s not surprising considering that recycling guidelines are made on a city-by-city basis! One item you can always count on to be accepted at any recycling facility is the 100% recyclable PET bottled water bottle. 💧 When you recycle these bottles, you are participating in what’s called a circular economy—where materials (such as PET and HDPE plastic) are reused over and over again, thus decreasing the need for virgin materials during production. Make recycling your bottled water bottles a habit, no matter what city you’re in! 🌍 #RecycleForChange #RecyclePET #EnvironmentalStewardship Learn More: https://lnkd.in/gneScKp

PET plastic (look for the #1 on the container) is the most recycled plastic in the world. And yet, though most US residents have access, only a fraction actually participate in #recycling. YOU can change that! As this The Wall Street Journal article states: If your town offers recycling, use it. You can also follow some basic rules to help easy-to-recycle plastics become something new. Look out for number 1 (and 2). When sorting your trash, give priority to PET and HDPE bottles and jars. You don’t have to clean them but make sure they’re empty. To ensure the caps also get recycled, keep them on the bottles. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eDwHXjKE #PickPET #recyclethe1 #endplasticwaste

At J&B Recycling, we process 700+ million plastic bottles each year. To put that into perspective, if these bottles were laid end-to-end, they would nearly circle the Earth four times. This significant effort plays an important role in reducing the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfills and our oceans. 🦈🌊 However, while recycling is essential, remember that less is more! Reducing and reusing plastic wherever possible has an even greater positive impact on the environment. And when you do recycle, please remember to keep the caps on your bottles. This simple step prevents lids from getting lost in our machinery and ensures the bottles are properly emptied, making the recycling process more efficient. Your efforts make a real difference. 🌎♻️ For more information about recycling plastic bottles visit 🔗 https://loom.ly/VzXGhZI #JBRecycing #Plastic #Recycling #WasteManagement #Sustainability

Sometimes insecure? Service packaging with a plastic coating belongs in the recycling bin. The coffee to-go cup, French fries bowls, or ice cream cups – this so-called service packaging has a waterproof coating on it (making them composite packaging), even if the outside is made of paper. Thus, they belong in the recycling bin. We think #recycling is very important. Sometimes, it’s hard to decide where your waste should go, which action is the best, and where to recycle specific things. So we collected some recycling tips. #CabkaRecyclingTips #SocialResponsibility #CircularEconomy #environment
