The great Barbara Corcoran's take on all of the changes in the real estate industry. Seven worthwhile minutes to watch if you're thinking of buying or selling. For the record, I 100% agree with her. Prices aren't going down, inventory isn't going up. Sellers are always greedy and want the highest net price and certainly aren't paying unrepresented buyers the buyer's agent commission, they would keep it for themselves, increasing their net, not helping the buyer snag a deal. Take away? Align with a great Realtor to help you buy your new property! Our role is less about finding the home (you have the internet, just like me!) It's to protect you and your money and ensure you're making a wise decision on a solid property or are, at least, going in with your eyes wide open. We are here to guide you to success. 🏠 Real Estate Commission Overhaul: NAR Settles Antitrust Suits, $418M in Damages 🤝 The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has reached a groundbreaking settlement, aiming to revamp the housing market's commission structure, following allegations of artificially inflated real estate fees. Under this deal, the NAR is set to pay $418 million in damages over four years and implement rule changes that could reshape the industry. 💸 The proposed changes could significantly reduce home transaction costs, with experts predicting a drop in fees for both buyers and sellers. By decoupling commissions traditionally shared between sellers and buyers' agents, the settlement seeks to align fees more closely with the value of services rendered. 🔍 The agreement, subject to federal judge approval, targets NAR's rules that allegedly inflated commissions by mandating sellers' agents to offer compensation on multiple listing services. If approved, the rules will take effect in July, potentially ushering in a new era of fee transparency and competition. 📉 While skeptics question the settlement's impact on the industry, analysts foresee substantial savings for consumers, potentially totaling $30 billion annually. Market reaction to the news has been mixed, with shares of real estate firms experiencing volatility amid uncertainty about the future revenue landscape. 💼 The proposed changes may introduce new negotiation dynamics in the home sale process, with buyers and sellers having separate fee discussions with their respective agents. This shift could empower consumers to choose agents based on service quality and pricing models. 🚀 Despite initial market jitters, the settlement signals a seismic shift in the real estate sector, emphasizing consumer choice and affordability. Stay tuned as the industry adapts to these transformative reforms, potentially reshaping agent-client dynamics and pricing strategies. #RealEstate #Reform #Commission #usrealestate # #NARSettlement #HousingMarket #Homebuying #industry #Homeownership #Consumer #AffordableHousing Read more: https://lnkd.in/gXVPe9RR
