"What is a Fragrance Triangle?" 🔺 🌸 Frequently Asked Friday is here again, answering some of the most common questions we get asked. So how does a Fragrance triangle help us to understand a fragrance? and how does it work? Also known as a fragrance pyramid, this triangular diagram attempts to make sense of a fragrance. The triangle is comprised of 3 sections; top notes, middle or heart notes and bottom or base notes. This diagram helps us to visualise a perfume or fragrance by highlighting some of the different recognisable scent notes. 🍋 Top Notes: These are the scents that you smell first and make an initial impression. They are often fresh, fruity and light. Think citrus, herbs and light fruits. 🌷 Middle/Heart Notes: These heart notes will emerge after the top notes fade. These are floral, spicy and green scents. 🌲 Base Notes: The base notes make up the lasting memory that the fragrance leaves behind. These are more often than not, deep rich scents that linger. Woody, musky and amber notes create the foundation upon which the entire fragrance rests upon. A fragrance triangle allows you to appreciate the complexity of the scent and the different facets which make up a fully developed scent. So now you know! #FragranceTriangle #PerfumeMagic #ScentScience
