New data revealed by the NSPCC shows that reported cases of child cruelty and neglect have more than doubled over the last 5 years. Saying that these figures, taken from police forces in England, should serve as a "stark wake-up call," the NSPCC has now joined with four other leading children's charities to call for urgent reform to child protection services to improve the lives of babies, children and young people across the country. High Lethality Risk Alert In the early hours of the morning, at 1:15am, Control Alt Delete took swift action to protect a Survivor of domestic violence. With the abuser set to be released from police custody, we changed the locks on the survivor's home to ensure their safety. It’s an unfortunate reality that domestic abuse happens within our country. It’s even more sad to realize that it happens so often that there are large nonprofits that take care of family members in these situations. Safe Harbor in Greenville “provides pathways for people impacted by domestic abuse to survive and thrive, and raises awareness of domestic abuse through community engagement and education.” Their services include a 24 hour hotline, emergency shelters, transitional housing, counseling, case management, and much more. There are quite a few ways you can get involved. You can donate in terms of money but you can also donate standard living items like kitchen or household goods, diapers and clothing for children, school supplies, and other needs.
