Amorim Cork is a well-known name in the wine industry, supplying almost half of the cork stoppers used annually worldwide. Friends - it's Monday. Let's explore the Napa Valley sub-AVA, Diamond Mountain, today. Diamond Mountain is located in the Mayacamas Mountain Range in the northwest corner of Napa Valley above Calistoga. The name was influenced by the numerous amounts of obsidian and shards of volcanic glass found in the soil. This AVA benefits from its relatively high elevation, where there is less heat and yet is still protected from frost. This allows for a prolonged growing season. Do to the many redwood trees that surround it, much of the terrain as too severe to be cultivated, however, wines here tend to be rich and powerful with good structure and acidity. I have a couple recommendations for you here. The first is Diamond Creek Vineyards. This historic winery is revered, because of the commitment of the founders to producing wines true to the unique terroir on their property. The Volcanic Hill, Gravelly Meadow and Red Rock Terrace Cabernets are long-lived, highly rated and highly collectable. https://lnkd.in/e3rHcNY8 My next recommendation is sparkling wine producer, Schramsberg. Stored in 150 year old caves, these wines have been served at official State function by every US President. Try to grab a bottle of J. It's not every day that ancient Greek literature and investment wine symbiotically unite. But that's the case with the 2019 Hundred Acre Ark Vineyard, which, in addition to receiving 99 points, is also produced in very small quantities. The flamboyant Jayson Woodbridge, who created Hundred Acre with a desire to create masterful Cabernet Sauvignon: And he did, as his wines are reaping sky-high scores vintage after vintage. And according to Liv-ex, the last 10 vintages Hundred Acre Ark Vineyard that have been on the market for at least five years have returned an average of 59.8%, which equates to an average annual return of 10%. Back to the ancient Greek: Woodbridge has created a significant label with five golden stars on top a white label inscribed the text from the opening paragraph of Homer's Odyssey. Why, we don't know. Perhaps to insinuate greatness. Perhaps a reference to a man's unrivalled quest that Woodbridge can vividly relate to? Read the investment tip here.
