At RefuAid we're often asked about our decision to remain part of Prism the Gift Fund as a collective fund. Questions often include why we haven't established our own charity and how being a collective fund impacts our governance (spoiler alert: our structure enhances oversight and adds layers of accountability without being time-consuming).
Our wonderful COO, Kate Higgins, has written an article for Civil Society Media Ltd Ltd, detailing the benefits of being a collective. Kate explains how this approach allows us to focus on our mission rather than administrative processes, and why it continues to be the right choice for us, saving cost and maximising impact.
