Prism is a registered charity whose mission is to increase the flow of funds into the charitable sector

About us

Prism the Gift Fund administers charitable donations from individuals, foundations and group fundraisers. Individual clients can donate cash, shares, art or property, or make regular donations through their bank. We operate a ‘donor advised fund’ and donations into the fund are distributed to charities according to donors’ wishes. Lump sum gifts can be made into your fund at any time or topped up whenever suits you. Some of our clients take their philanthropy a step further and establish a foundation. We act as a ‘back-office’ for those that don’t have the capacity to do so themselves, dealing with the significant administrative burden that this entails. This can include: the processing of grants to charities, board meeting administration, submitting accounts and more. Prism also offer a 'Collective Fund'. This is an account that allows fundraisers to raise money without setting up a standalone charitable structure. We manage all the back office work involved with the day to day running of a charity, allowing the fundraisers to outsource their admin and focus on the project work. • ‘We are facing the fourth education revolution, and we must act together now.’ This was one of the points made by educator and historian Sir Anthony Seldon at our Education and Philanthropy event. Part of our 20th Anniversary celebrations, and kindly hosted at @Evelyn Partners. Jennifer Emms, Private Client Partner and Head of Charities at Maurice Turnor Gardner LLP, introduced Sir Anthony. The focus was very much on the current education landscape and how we need to reimagine learning and the part that AI will play in that. He kickstarted the session by asking the audience to reflect on their own learning experiences and then reflected on the fact that the foundations of our education system haven’t changed since the 1850’s. A lifelong champion of creating an accessible education system, he outlined the opportunity AI and new technologies have at levelling the education playing field. He urged philanthropists to work alongside communities, educators, and parents to help shape the next revolution in education. Other highlights from his talk included: 💫The changing landscape of education, predicting that AI will have more of an impact than the internal combustion engine. 💫How we need to rethink intelligence and learning, nurturing curious learners and focusing on a child-centred approach to learning - where the role of teachers is to understand how a child is intelligent, not whether a child is intelligent. 💫The failures of the current education system, which see a third of students fail, asking how we can make schools places children love to go. 💫The promise of personalised learning offered by AI, which makes an ‘Eton education’ available to everyone. Sir Anthony also talked in particular about the new charity that he set up, ‘AI in Education.’ Its purpose is to help ensure that AI is introduced into schools for the benefit of all learners, especially the most disadvantaged. And so that we can mitigate the mental health damage done to the young to date by social media and smartphone obsession. You can read the full blog about the event here: https://lnkd.in/dbbbrMxM What do you think the role of philanthropy should be in education? Are there projects you feel are having a big impact and helping bring about systemic change? This event was part of our 20th-anniversary celebrations. This year, we are encouraging big conversations that promote the role of philanthropy, the challenges, and the opportunities for the future. By having these conversations and bringing people together, we hope to shape the future of giving and get more money into charitable causes. • The question was: how can we unleash the full potential of the UK’s impact economy? Adiva Kestenbaum Kalms, MBA, Deputy CEO at Prism the Gift Fund (Prism), and Elena Camilla Myers, Business Development Executive at Prism, joined over 250 delegates for the Beacon Forum, hosted by The Beacon Collaborative held at Guildhall this month. It’s always a fantastic event, sharing a diverse range of ideas and opinions as well as innovative approaches to developing and growing the impact of the economy and the important role philanthropists play. This year, Stephanie Peacock, the Minister for Civil Society and Youth, shared the government’s commitment to working with philanthropists to benefit more communities: “Supporting philanthropic growth across the country is a really important route to generating more private capital that can deliver public good.” You can read the full speech here: https://lnkd.in/eyU6gqpF David Holdsworth CEO, Charity Commission for England and Wales spoke about a new era for philanthropy describing how  economic challenges and increased demands on charities are creating new opportunities for philanthropists: ‘During unprecedented times there is an opportunity for huge potential'. As a charity driven by a mission to increase the flow of funds into the sector, this resonates strongly with us at Prism. You can read more here: https://lnkd.in/esakawjM Conversations and roundtables covered: 📌How can we develop a national strategy to support more and better philanthropy and giving in the UK? 📌What will it take to channel philanthropy to the places across the UK that need it most? 📌Where are the opportunities for closer partnership between government, philanthropy, impact investment, and responsible businesses? 📌What are the innovations in social and blended finance, and how can we make these deals more attractive and accessible? 📌What is the role of wealth advisers in the impact economy? 📌How can disruptive philanthropy drive innovation and change? Lots of food for thought. We look forward to seeing how the new government’s ideas will help shape the future of giving. #Philanthropy #MajorDonors #ImpactEconomy #Innovation #Charities

  • World Jewish Relief held its annual fundraising dinner celebrating its global impact. Anna Josse, our co-founder and CEO, was inspired by the stories, impact, and words shared by Maurice Helfgott, the Chair, and Paul Anticoni, CEO of World Jewish Relief, Lady Valerie Mirvis, and Samuel (Sam) Gorman, a student who had visited their projects in Rwanda. There was also a performance from Daria G., from Kherson, Ukraine, who played three pieces written by Ukrainian composers. The event was hosted by TV and radio host Suzy Klein, whose grandfather was supported by the charity when he came to the UK in 1939. The charity saved the lives of over 65,000 Jews during the war and since then has supported humanitarian causes across the world, recently running the biggest resettlement programme in the UK for Ukrainian refugees. #Philanthropy #MajorDonors #Charities #Fundraising #HumanitarianAid

  • Our CEO Anna Josse was moved by the courageous stories she heard from the survivors of the holocaust at an event at 11 Downing Street. With rising hate and disinformation, it's important that these voices are heard. The event, organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust and hosted by Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, invited survivors, their families and supporters to commemorate the Holocaust ahead of the official memorial day today..    It is 80 years since the concentration camps were liberated, and there are few people remaining who can tell these first-hand stories. The survivors have dedicated their lives to educating others about their experiences in the hope that this will never happen again. #HolocaustMemorialDay

  • It’s great to see Anna Josse, our founder and CEO, featured in the new edition of the Spear's Magazine 500. The publication is an in-depth guide for advisers to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices. When we set out in 2005, Anna was very much focused on creating a bespoke service for high-net-worth individuals to make giving a simple, efficient and joyful experience. This year, we celebrate our 20th anniversary and a significant financial milestone—having raised over $1 billion for charitable purposes. What we love about the ‘Spear’s guide is that everyone listed appears on their own merit—it isn’t possible to buy a place. Huge congratulations to everyone else who has been included! • How have we raised $1 billion for good causes? ❤️ In 2025, we celebrate our anniversary, having grown into one of the largest charities in the UK. As we reach this incredible milestone, it’s a chance to reflect on the journey so far. Prism the Gift Fund (Prism) was developed as a concept when our co-founder and CEO Anna Josse observed how American philanthropists were using Donor Advised Funds effectively to navigate significant gifting whilst DAFs were effectively unknown in the UK. Anna set off on a mission to change this. Since our inception, we have made 9,321 grants through our Donor Advised Fund (DAF) to charitable activities globally. Later, we established our Collective Funds - a unique model only operated by Prism. An easy to set up service, it allows individuals to fundraise in the UK and focus on good causes while Prism manages all the complex administration and governance. This service often acts as a charity incubator, with some Collective Funds spinning out as their own independent charities. Since 2015, we’ve managed 239 funds, starting with the UN World Food Programme, to operational services supporting child refugees and, later, to memorial funds supporting young people’s mental health. Our supporters are helping more good causes than ever before. We asked Anna to tell us about the defining causes and stories from the last 20 years, the secret to Prism’s success and what the future holds for this area of philanthropy. • Why donor-advised funds (DAFs) are the way forward was on the agenda for this webinar from Philanthropy Impact. In amongst a panel of fellow DAF experts, our CEO, Anna Josse, sat down with John Pepin, CEO of Philanthropy Impact, to highlight how DAFs work and their unique place in the UK market as an essential resource for philanthropic giving in the sector. Anna also highlighted some of the interesting projects Prism has supported over the years by touching on our Collective Fund structure, a unique offering of Prism. For those involved in private wealth, managing philanthropic funds, or working in the charitable sector, this was a valuable opportunity to deepen your understanding of how DAFs can elevate giving and create a greater social impact. 🙌 A special thank you to John Pepin, CEO of Philanthropy Impact, for organising a fantastic session and to the other panellists for their insightful contributions. • The whole office is getting into the festive spirit! Mince pies were shared as Senior Relationship Manager Abi Sever and Head of DAFs and Collective Funds, Caledonia Dickinson, organised a card-making session to help everyone unwind together. Celebrating with supporters, clients, and staff is one of the cornerstones of the festive season, and our team has been busy. Spreading joy and cheer, The Salvation Army hosted their annual Christmas Carol Concert at the Royal Albert Hall, attended by two of our Relationship Managers, Abi Sever and Jocelyn Phimister. Our neighbours at the Wallace Collection welcomed Felix Clarke and Caledonia Dickinson from our team to their festive drinks. Jocelyn Phimister and Anna Josse also had the pleasure of attending Quilter Cheviot Charities’ Christmas Evening Reception. Thank you to everyone for the invitations and the opportunity to meet new people while hearing about your important work. Earlier this week, we held our festive lunch together with our trustees: Penny Lovell, Sharonjit Clare , Charles Mesquita, Jeremy Amias and Jonathan Gold. Thanks to a fabulous quiz orchestrated by Felix Clarke and Eoin Hallam, we realised how much we knew about each other!
