Another day, another AI framework - I find these useful but where are the practical examples? I'm testing a few approaches in my own module (https://lnkd.in/eYQi6KVr) this semester but keen to see some in practice both relating to assessment but also activity based learning, skills development, critical reflection, etc and how these are linked to ILOs. Sometimes the best learning experiences are those gained outside of the workplace- especially when things don't always go to plan and you need to draw on adaptability, resilience and and plenty of problem solving! Group work can be a positive, engaging learning experience - but like all teaching and learning - it needs structure! I do this through the use of Belbin's Team roles to help students understand their strengths and then apply that in an industry context. They then identify roles and how they may work together as a group on projects - and how they might learn from each other. It's not perfect as Belbin has it limitations but it does help establish the foundations of effective group working. #teaching #learning #studentexperience #highereducation

First Away-Day with the now fully formed talented KIITE team. Fantastic day and of course super-pleased that when we did our values session, creativity came out top, as it is my ambition for us to be the most creative team at Keele - and beyond! Podcasting is such a useful tool in teaching and learning - as a starter for ten it can increase student engagement, support self-directed and inclusive learning, as well as contribute to authentic assessment and help develop employability skills. How do you know when you have a great team? When they pull off a truly fantastic event as with today’s Keele Education Conference, demonstrating communication, collaboration and can-do attitude in spades. It was a pleasure to be able to thank them in my closing remarks. As a leader, it is my job to earn the respect of my team -  to nurture a team culture of appreciation through recognition and making them feel valued.
