The employees and residents of Mulumba House welcomed Catholic Charities USA and staff members from individual Catholic Charities agencies across the country this week for a tour and information session about the transitional housing location and its Welcome Home Reentry Program. Attendees from Catholic Charities USA’s Prison Ministry Reentry Workgroup Conference were given a red-carpet welcome and met some of the 29 men who live at Mulumba House. Welcome Home provides mentoring, case-management services and housing to individuals returning to their communities from incarceration. “This place saves lives,” one said. “Now I have a support system that isn't just on the phone. I can sit and talk to staff here,” said another. “The help I get from the people here, I get from family. These people are family," said yet another. #secondchances #CCADW #WashingtonDC #housing #prisonministry Karen McNeal

Every statistic tells a story, and this one is no different. Homelessness is often a situation thrust upon individuals, not a path they willingly choose. At Houses for Warriors, we're dedicated to providing support, shelter, and a path forward for those who've served our country and find themselves without a home. Let's stand together to combat homelessness and provide the support our heroes deserve. 🏡🇺🇸 #HousesForWarriors #EndHomelessness #SupportOurHeroes #warriorhome #hfw #handup #homelessveterans #veteransupport #homelessveterans #firstrespondersupport #veterannonprofit #transitionalhousing #suicideprevention #homelessprevention #donate #coloradononprofit

Teardrops, a #Merseyside homelessness charity faces "imminent closure" due to a "perfect storm" of increased energy bills, wage costs and rent. The St Helens based group helps rough sleepers by providing hot meals, clothing and advice. They also provide local schools with food and uniform for children in need. I wonder how many other small but critical charities are facing the same situation? I wonder if this issue will appear on the manifestos or the campaign literature of any of the major political parties? #costofliving #homelessness #charity #poverty #community #socialimpact #ukhousing #donations #localauthority #school @homelesslink Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Shelter NSPCC Child Poverty Action Group UK Action for Children Simon on the Streets #politics Labour Party (UK) The Conservative Party Lib Dems in Comms #foodbank The Trussell Trust https://lnkd.in/eTNBuara

Our housing program is a critical component of the homeless to homeowner continuum. Housing is a foundational necessity for anyone and everyone. The availability and accessibility of affordable housing for individuals recovering from addiction and/or former incarceration is extremely limited. What started as a nudge from God to serve the most vulnerable, allowed us to change the trajectory of six adults’ and two children's’ lives through dignified housing and fellowship. This may of been our calling, but we cannot do it without you! 🤝 Make an impact today by donating to our mission on our website: https://lnkd.in/dsQdEKfh Or via Venmo (NEW!): @FTG2018 📢 Share and talk about our mission with your friends and family. ❤️ Practice compassion and empathy toward your fellow humans. We are at record numbers of unhoused individuals in many parts of our country. You may have someone in your life living in these circumstances and not even know it. #HousingIsARight #RecoveryRequiresResources #SecondChances #TransitionalHousing #HousingProgram #EquitableHousing #CommunityBuilding #CookCountyHousing #PathToPermanentHousing #HomelessToHomeowner

Have you thought about fundraising for MK Act? Support the Last Resort Fund: Help Us Reach Our Goal of £5,000 a Month Over the past year, we have supported over 2,000 victim-survivors of domestic abuse in Milton Keynes. Each individual's journey and needs are unique, and the Last Resort Fund has been crucial in providing tailored assistance. Here are a few ways the fund has recently made a difference: 🟢Dental Work: Covered the cost of dental treatment for a victim-survivor after an assault. 🟢Transportation: Provided funds for safe transportation to a refuge. 🟢Housing Essentials: Helped a family with essentials as they moved into a new home. To continue meeting the growing demand for our services, we aim to raise £5,000 each month. Your support can help us ensure that survivors of domestic abuse receive the immediate and practical assistance they need. How You Can Help: 🟢Donate: Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. 🟢Spread the Word: Share our mission with your network. 🟢Volunteer: Get involved and help us make a lasting impact. Together, we can provide hope and support to those who need it most. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to making a difference. [Homelessness in Manchester] Will you make the difference today? I’m proud to be a Trustee of the Booth Centre, a community centre in Manchester run with people affected by homelessness. As our 2022-2023 Impact Report shows, we’re making a difference to 1,000+ people annually. Section 21 no-fault evictions reached an all-time high in 2023, with more than 7,400 cases being brought before the courts. Added to this, anyone receiving a positive outcome to their asylum case is served with a 28-day notice to quit. But our resources are limited. We urgently need donations to ensure we can continue to provide for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness - Breakfast and lunch - Training and help to gain employment - Support to improve health and wellbeing - Access emergency accommodation and to secure and maintain a permanent home And many more things. As an independent charity, we rely on the generosity of our community. ASK: Would you help us and donate today? https://lnkd.in/ea6P-iEx #ESG #CSR #SocialValue #SocialImpactBusiness #CorporateSocialResponsibility #Manchester #Homelessness
