Want to get your team of 100-300 together this summer? It's time to start planning! Here are three tips to get you going 👇 1️⃣ Get Creative with Outdoor Activities Take advantage of the beautiful weather by planning outdoor activities. Think: company picnics in the park, a beach volleyball tournament, or hiking adventures - getting outside will energize your team and encourage camaraderie! 2️⃣ Include Families for a Family-Friendly Affair Recognize that employees have lives outside of work by organizing family-friendly events. Consider hosting a BBQ where employees can bring their families, or plan a day at a local amusement park. By involving families, you show your appreciation for your team's holistic well-being. 3️⃣ Encourage Team Building through Volunteer Work Give back to the community while strengthening your team's bonds by organizing volunteer activities. Whether it's cleaning up a local park, participating in a charity run, or volunteering at a food bank, coming together for a good cause will create lasting memories and a sense of pride in the team! Last thoughts: Summer is a time for fun, relaxation, and building connections. By following these tips, you not only create memorable experiences for your team but also nurture a positive and cohesive company culture. We can't control the sunshine, but we can still create moments of laughter and meaningful connections! 🌟 #teamevents #hrinsights #teamculture

People & Programs Wiz 🪄 | Employee Experience Advocate | HR Professional | Business Partner | Relationship Builder ✨
Last Friday, I got to take part in an awesome virtual volunteering event with some of my new coworkers, hosted by Goodera. Together, we spent an hour to create a resource book with tips on balancing work and motherhood for underserved women 🫶 I know sometimes, events like these are seen as not important, fluff, or "nice to have", but there are so many benefits that apply directly to the workplace: 👉 Team building - working towards a common goal can foster a sense of teamwork among you & your coworkers (especially if you don't naturally cross paths with said coworkers in your day to day work). 👉 Increased engagement - we all want to feel like we're a part of something and these types of events help to do just that, leading to higher morale! 👉 Skill development - you get an opportunity to learn new skills or sharpen your skills. For this specific project, I got to put my researching and design skills to the test ✨ 👉 Enhanced communication - when you need to work together to coordinate on something, it can naturally help to improve communication skills, which is always a plus but especially so in a remote-first environment where you have to be SUPER intentional about your communication! Big shoutout to my colleagues, Courtney L. Patterson, Dot Mocalis, and Jess Lightfoot for a super fun Friday afternoon of collaboration & the opportunity to make a positive impact ⚡️

🥕Volunteering at moveable feast: 3 leadership tips for rapid team and trust building. Forget awkward team building exercises! My volunteer experience at Moveable Feast has become a crash course in rapid trust building and communication. To set the stage, I have had a goal to volunteer at Moveable Feast for at least 3 days a week, sometimes less if the volunteer spots aren't available (a bonus leadership tip: too many cooks can slow down the process!) It's been incredible to see such passionate people, from volunteers who come in every so often, to those who come in weekly, and even people coming in daily out of the goodness of their own hearts! It has also been an incredible learning experience in how to form teams quickly and effectively to complete a common mission. Here's what l've learned so far: 📝Secret #1: Shared Passion is the Magic: Volunteering/working alongside other peopletowards a common goal = instant connection! We're all there for the same reason, and that alone set the foundation for trust and understanding faster than you can say "I need more Edamame!" 📝Secret #2: Speak Up, Be Heard: Moveable Feast fosters a psychologically safe space. No question was too small, no idea too wild. Actively listening to concerns or suggestions from other volunteers offers new insights to improve the process that would otherwise be lost without that psychological safety. 📝Secret #3: From "Me" to "We": We aren't just individuals; we're a well-oiled machine. While the tasks may be simple, resource allocation is not always so. By understanding this, we're able to on the fly without a word change up responsibilities if a station or role needs assistance to keep the line moving. The Result? Not just delicious meals packaged and served, but invaluable skills I'll carry throughout my career (and life!). This experience hasn't just been volunteering; it's leadership training in disguise. Want to learn more? Drop a comment below and let's chat! This journey's just getting started, and I'm excited to share it with you. #volunteering #communication #leadership #community #moveablefeast #grateful P.S. Huge shoutout to the amazing team at Moveable Feast! You guys rock!

"We are but a sum total of our experiences" - B.J. Neblett Last week we had my niece Lily join ProfitAbility for #WorkExperience, and it made me reflect on the many different experiences I've had. Seemingly small decisions can lead to big moments that make a huge impact. The stories (and lessons) are endless, but there some themes to my experiences that were important to my development, and now key to my values: 🤗 Connection: From being a shy waitress to running community events to working online with people across the globe, connection is something that has allowed me to grow as a person and learn so much from others. ✨ Purpose: Volunteering, including set building at The Actors' Church and running workshops for displaced people with Anna-Lee Ramsurrun Pilipala Art gave me so much pleasure. Creating moments of happiness and having a WHY behind what I do is a must. 🌍 Exploration: Variety and creativity is the spice of my life. I love exploring the world, different ideas and topics; something both #FlexibleWorking and the #LearningDesign industry makes possible. I'd love to hear about your 'small moments with huge impacts'. We can learn from eachother 🤗

Gaining a broader perspective on the business can be as simple as volunteering for cross-functional projects. It's not about stepping out of your comfort zone, but rather expanding it. It's about understanding the interdependencies and dynamics of different business functions. It will help you not only in your personal growth but also in becoming a better team player. Also, the insights gained from diverse functional areas can be used to strengthen HR strategies and practices. It's a win-win situation for both you and your organization. So, have you ever volunteered for a project outside your department? If yes, what were your key takeaways? #ProfesionalGrowth #CrossFunctionalCollaboration #hrdefined

Did you know that volunteering can significantly boost the employee experience? Engaging in volunteer activities isn’t just about helping the community. It’s also about creating a more connected, motivated, and fulfilled workforce. Employees get to flex their skills outside of their usual roles, picking up new skills along the way. Volunteering offers a unique playground for your team to sharpen their leadership, project management, and creative problem-solving abilities. Even better…it aligns your employees with meaningful causes, giving them a sense of purpose beyond the 9-to-5 grind. Encouraging and facilitating volunteer opportunities is a powerful way to enrich the employee experience and foster a strong, unified team. Volunteering is much more than just giving back. It’s about growing and connecting together as a team. #HumanResources #EmployeeExperience
