On the north by the 41st degree of North latitude, and on the east by the 25th degree of West longitude from Washington. Colorado City was its Territorial capital from 1861 t0 1862, Golden City from 1862-1867, and Denver City from 1867 until Colorado became a state in 1876. It should be noted that the March 24, 1864 description set 0º longitude in Washington, D.C. The only known plan of Colorado City was drawn in 1859 by Henry Martyn Fosdick (1822-1899), a civil engineer and surveyor.
