This Technical Tuesday we will take a further look at the testing and optimisation of our electromotor at our partner SPIT . Spit has an in-house dynamometer capable of handling high loads and a wall power supply that can deliver continuous high power to our electromotor. A few weeks ago, we conducted a test at SPIT where we measured the parameters and characteristics of our custom electromotor. This week we will be taking our setup to Spit once again to measure and create the motor mapping. Simply put, a mapping is a large data table with information on what kind of signals (Iq and Id) the electromotor should receive to produce a certain amount of torque at a specific RPM. This is essential to have an efficient power delivery, resulting in less heat losses, a larger range and ultimately a better performing Superbike.

Recently, MTAC submitted content for an article that was to focus on our Rapid Response 24-Hour Emergency Service for pallet racks that have sustained critical impact damage. With LTUG two months out, good time for me to make a 7ea comment… if you bought a 7ea (pg7121) in roughly 1998-2004, it probably arrived with Tfire rating set to 2035F. But if could look closely, you likely have all 2055F parts except one: the S1S. That’s why we held to 2035. One part! What happens to an overfired shroud? It oxidizes and won’t be repairable. Do you repair shrouds or put in new? Most don’t repair! So there is little reason to stay at 2035. If you ever find yourself living in a time where megawatts are important (hear me in ercot, pjm, caiso, et al!), this is small but profitable. What was ercot yesterday at 7pm, $3000?! Am I leaving out some nuances? Sure. We’d prefer non pressurized s2n. We want the 125hp blowers (but why would you still have 50hp!). What’s 20F in Tfire worth? Off top of my head, 1.5%mw. And please don’t tell me you are still at igv=84. I’ll talk about that in a later post. But that’s another 0.5%. Two last comments to make this crystal clear - 2%mw with a weekend outage. Nothing opened. - please don’t think ttrf is Tfire. (I posted that over a year ago) ttrf can be off by 80F. It’s just a datum.
