Happy Friday Connections!! Yesterday, I braved the cold and traveled from our Newcastle office to our vibrant Leeds hub, and what a busy day it was! —The key thing I got out of yesterday was an opportunity to connect, laugh, and learn from different corners of SPG who I don't sit with daily. Here are a few things I got from yesterday: Bringing Colleagues Together: There's something special about getting colleagues from different offices together under one roof, even if it is only for a few hours. It fosters collaboration and strengthens that drive that allows our collective success. Fun: Yesterday was filled with jokes, anecdotes, and an amazing team lunch. It's incredible how laughter can build camaraderie and foster teamwork. Learning: One of the most important aspects of connecting with colleagues from different offices is the opportunity to learn from each other. Whether it's sharing insights, exchanging perspectives, or brainstorming ideas. Looking forward to the next trip down and getting team Leeds up to the Toon in a few weeks!! #SPG

🚶♀️ Embracing the Power of Teamwork: My Summer Walk Challenge Journey 🚶♂️ #teamspirit #inclusion I've always been a firm believer in the incredible power of teams, no matter the nature of the initiative. For those who know me well, they'll tell you I'm not exactly a "sports lady." Sure, I enjoy the occasional evening stroll with my 🐶 , but 🏃♀️ or 🚴♂️ ? Not exactly my cup of tea. I never thought I'd find myself truly engaged in any fitness-related challenge. Then, a little over a month ago, I joined the amazing team at #NRDCompanies. This summer, they introduced the #WalkChallenge, and when I first glanced at the numbers, I thought, "No way, no how." To put it into perspective, my step count for July was a mere 95k. But in August, something incredible happened – I reached a staggering 295k steps. Yes, you read that right! I still can't quite believe it myself, but there's something truly magical about the commitment and responsibility that this challenge has instilled in me. It's not just about achieving a step goal; it's about being part of a supportive team that pushes me to go beyond my limits. This experience has taught me that #teamwork can turn any challenge, no matter how daunting, into an opportunity for personal growth. It's not about being a sports enthusiast; it's about #embracing the spirit of camaraderie, determination, and #selfimprovement . I'm excited to see where this journey takes me next, and I'm grateful to be part of a team that's not only passionate about what they do but also about encouraging each other to be the best versions of ourselves. My previous company, BNOTIONS, was recognized as one of the best places to work in Canada and was well known for having a uniquely great company culture. An old colleague from there recently reached out who is early in a new venture to see if I had any advice on how they can build their own tight knit culture. Here are three tips I shared with him: 1 - Establish rituals At BNOTIONS, we had a weekly talent show. Our own version of Halloween Day in May. And took annual trips we called “workations” with the entire team where we hosted an award show where we gave hand drawn plates to everyone on the team recognizing their contributions. 2 - Create space for people’s identities fueled by their unique ambitions, challenges and experiences At Facebook, we started every weekly team meeting with questions to reveal these often overlooked insights to better get to know each other. Ex/ “If you could travel to any time period in history, when and where would you go?” 3 - Spend time together outside of work At Tuned, we climbed mountains, went to driving ranges, baseball games and arcades to break away from work, have fun and deepen relationships. Whatever it is - a good company culture is one grounded in fun, respect and shared values.

A few days ago we wrapped up a successful 2023 and looked ahead into a bright 2024 during our first-ever Preply Culture Day! It was a special day where we set aside our usual work routine to unite as a global team of Preplers. Featuring interesting leadership talks, engaging workshops, fun exercises to learn more about our new Preply Principles and, it turned out to be a day filled with collaboration and the excitement of learning new things. #GrowthMindset #OnePreply
