Amogy enters ammonia collaboration with South Korean partners. By Edward Laity Amogy, Hanwha Ocean and Hanwha Aerospace have agreed to collaborate on the deployment of an ammonia-powered commercial vessel. Under a new contract, Hanwha Ocean will purchase Amogy’s ammonia-to-electrical power system and Hanwha Aerospace’s hydrogen fuel cell system. The partnership between the three companies is expected to begin within the year, with the aim of decarbonising the maritime industry via Amogy’s tech. By combining Amogy systems with Hanwha Ocean’s shipbuilding capabilities and Hanwha Aerospace’s fuel cell system expertise, the collaboration wants to set “a new standard for clean energy in the maritime sector,” according to Seonghoon Woo, Amogy CEO. https://lnkd.in/df3REtpT

Many thanks to the colleagues of CEN-CENELEC for having hosted the workshop on “STANDARDIZATION'S ROLE IN EU NON-ELECTRIFIED NETWORK TRANSFORMATION”. I was pleased to participate to the debate on behalf of EIM with the colleagues of the rail sector and EU Agency for Railways (ERA). AFIR Regulation gives the opportunity to governments and rail stakeholders to better frame the possible development of the alternative use of batteries and hydrogen technologies when electrification of rail lines is not economically viable. Standardisation in the railway use of battery and hydrogene is well ongoing. ENs will be needed to support a clear regulatory framework and contribute to cost-effective integration of interfaces within the rail eco-system (see e.g. charging stations), but also with other critical infrastructure network (see e.g. energy grids). #CEN-CENELEC #EIM #EIMrail #ERA

Our Electric Freightway project is picking up speed 🚛⚡️ Today, the second report for the programme has been published by principal partner Hitachi ZeroCarbon, which sits at the epicentre of an energy, transport and logistics sector revolution ⚡️ GRIDSERVE’s Electric Freightway is part of the Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator programme. Lead by GRIDSERVE, funded by the Department for Transport and delivered in partnership with Innovate UK, it aims to lay the foundations for the biggest and most advanced electric Heavy Goods Vehicle (eHGV) charging network in the world. Following the initial outline of the project’s approach and objectives in report 1, the second report shows that the consortium of more than 30 members have made good progress in the demonstration, design and implementation of eHGV infrastructure. This includes GRIDSERVE designing some of the first eHGV specific charging stations in the UK following extensive consultation. Find out more about our second report here 👉 https://bit.ly/4eamQOq
