Our next opportunity has gone live! We are pleased to have published another opportunity on Contracts Finder in line with the schedule we had previously indicated https://lnkd.in/eWhFctye. Anchors and Moorings have been identified in the recent published Industrial Growth Plan, Supply Chain Capability Analysis, Celtic Sea Blue Print and Missing Middle as one the UK’s priorities. We agree, and are commissioning work which we hope will enable private sector collaborative activity with the potential to develop into technically credible and investible propositions addressing industrial scale Anchor and Mooring challenges in the Celtic Sea. The development of a “coalition of the willing”. Further details, background information and a link to the Invitation to Tender can be found on our Piranha platform https://lnkd.in/ev82r5fc. All the reports agree: Anchors and mooring is an area of real strength in the UK - and the need to build capacity for #FloatingOffshoreWind is clear. It's not more words we need though... it's pro-activity by our capable companies to work up solutions at scale. How to do so with no sign of a contract? This ITT from Celtic Sea Power, on our new #Piranha platform, is a practical step to prompt #CapacityBuilding for #FLOW in the #CelticSea - and export potential beyond.

The big ticket challenges faced by the UK #OffshoreWind industry are now well established and feature prominently in recent reports (A&M, O+M, Cables, Concrete). There is a wide range of cross-cutting services however which are less easy to define but vital if we are to *deliver* these ambitious projects... Practical know-how in providing... haulage, cranage, personnel, vessels, enabling infrastructure, sub-sea inspection, accommodation, training, even catering and many more will be vital "glue". Much of it could be grounded locally too and, if taken as a whole, represent significant potential economic value. How though to prepare now for delivery at scale in the future? Ahead of big contracts.... companies looking to rise to these challenges may be interested in Celtic Sea Power's latest ITTs for outline "Industry Deliver Plans". Also the #SupplyChainAccelerator recently launched by The Crown Estate #CapacityBuilding #FloatingOffshoreWind #CelticSea #ExportPotential
Our final ITT is live... seeking delivery plans for "Logistics and Operational Services" to support #FloatingWind in the #CelticSea. "Logistics and Operational Services" is a broad term but, to ensure the timely construction, integration, deployment and maintenance of 250+ FLOW systems at sea, this industry will need significant practical know-how. Whether capability in; vessels, haulage, cranage, personnel provision, monitoring, marine ops, enabling infrastructure, sub-sea inspection or others - this is a call for companies with both the will to collaborate and the ambition to grow in FLOW. A recorded webinar, relevant resources, further information and a link to the ITT on Contracts Finder can all be found on #Piranha: https://lnkd.in/e49kJhaF ITTs for outline Industry Delivery Plans: 🔹 Concrete Foundations – Open til 18th June 2024 🔹 Logistics and Operational Services – Open til 3rd July 2024 🔸 Operations and Maintenance – Closed 🔸 Anchors and Mooring – Closed 🔸 Cables – Closed This work is being funded by the Cornwall FLOW Strategic Sector Development project which is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. In his op-ed (see below), PCA President and CEO, Paul de Jong, lays out many great reasons why we should celebrate TMEP. As a British Columbian, I am acutely aware of my province’s place in Confederation as Canada’s only Pacific province. Canada’s provinces and territories have much-needed resources to share with the world and BC should always be a willing, constructive neighbour, ensuring all of our resources get to market in a responsible manner. In my opinion, TMEP is a modern example of nation-building that will guarantee the future success of all Canadians. Lastly, I also want to give a shout-out to our PCA member companies and their workers who helped build TMEP. You used your incredible expertise to get this project done. You are truly our nation’s builders! #TMEP #pipelines
It's FINALLY time to celebrate the Trans Mountain Expansion project, the pipeline that just wouldn't quit, writes our President & CEO Paul de Jong in today's Calgary Herald. #TMEP #pipelines

At the beginning of this year, a total of 4,349 of these unused, neglected and in some cases contaminated properties (areas, sites, land plots or buildings) were registered in the National Brownfields Database in the Czech Republic. The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) provided a total of CZK 5.06 billion from the state budget and EU funds for brownfields regeneration projects for business use between 2018 and 2023 and supported a total of 415 projects. As the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) audit showed, the support did lead to a reduction in the number of brownfields in the Czech Republic, but not to the extent originally planned by the MoIT. The MoIT managed to support the regeneration of less than a tenth of registered brownfields in the audited period from 2018 to 2023. https://lnkd.in/eAYT_nv2

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is investing $825,000 in federal grants from the Louisiana Rural Infrastructure Program to construct a direct railroad line to key Broussard businesses like SafeSource Direct, Gulf Island Services, and Aquaspersions. This strategic investment not only boosts our local economy by attracting new industrial customers and businesses to Broussard but also strengthens our existing businesses by providing a new and efficient option for transporting their products. The Brazilian government acknowledges its limited budget for public railroad investments and seeks private investors for expansion. Planning Minister Simone Tebet stated that despite federal funding constraints, the rail network can grow through private-sector partnerships. Despite limited public finances, progress in the rail sector is happening due to significant support from private firms, especially in the mining industry. Trains are an efficient way to transport minerals from remote regions to ports. For more information, visit this article: https://lnkd.in/eyY_Wz8Z. Great article by my colleague Keith Letourneau about public marine #infrastructure in Texas. Considering these major public initiatives in the context of private and quasi-public projects shows yet again that Texas is leading the way in #maritime investment. That investment will bolster our place as the most important #GulfCoast state and a significant player in the U.S. for all things marine business. From petrochemicals to offshore energy, containerized cargo to bulk and breakbulk trade, industrial and technological research to tourism, Texas is doing it all. https://lnkd.in/gsHVAnTN

The Gascoyne Region of Western Australia is one of the poorest (by household income) in this State and across the Nation. The low economy has seen population contract and there is now no midwife services in the entire region - that’s right if you live there your children cannot be born in the region. Tourism has been successful but with warming oceans threatening to destroy the source of this interest action must be taken before this disappears. This project has already been recognised as one that will act to address climate change concerns and facilitate Australia’s energy transition. The Gascoyne is the only coastal region in Australia without a Comercial Port. Gascoyne Gateway will bring economy, employment and prosperity to where it is needed most.
Thanks to Tom Zaunmayr Business News for covering the latest in WA’s port infrastructure, including activities at Gascoyne Gateway. New marine infrastructure is pivotal in supporting Western Australia’s export economy and future freight demands. Gascoyne Gateway’s marine infrastructure is a first-of-its kind project, integrating the natural environment into the design from the outset.
