🏆And the BAFTA goes to…! 🏆 Earlier this month we worked with BAFTA and Westminster City Council to host a skills event for students from schools in Westminster and the surrounding boroughs. 📽️ From choreography to #animation, the 15-18 year olds attended interactive sessions run by industry professionals on the #transferableskills needed for career opportunities in film, television and games. This event was part of our ongoing partnership with independent arts charity #BAFTA to support skills development in the local community, hosted at 195 Piccadilly, the home of its year-round learning and talent development programmes.
About us
The Crown Estate is a significant national landowner with a diverse £16bn portfolio that includes urban centres and development opportunities; one of the largest rural holdings in the country; Regent Street and St James’s in London’s West End; and Windsor Great Park. We also manage the seabed and much of the coastline around England, Wales and Northern Ireland, playing a major role in the UK’s world leading offshore wind sector. We are a unique business with a unique heritage. Set up by an Act of Parliament, and occupying a space between the public and private sector, we act independently and commercially to grow the value of the portfolio for the nation. We are a company for the country and all of our net revenue profit goes to the Treasury for the benefit of the nation’s finances. This has totalled more than £4bn over the last ten years. Through our activities and investments, we create national environmental, social and financial value both for now and into the long term.

🦫 Please welcome our new, furry residents at Rushden Lakes!🦫 A family of eight beavers are busy making their new home at the Nene Wetlands for the first time in 400 years! This is the first beaver release project on Crown Estate land and is slightly unusual as the beavers have been released on the doorstep of Rushden Lakes shopping centre. We hope the millions of visitors each year, as well as local residents and businesses, will take the opportunity to learn more about the incredible impact these amazing creatures can have on the local environment, landscape and ecology. A big thank you to the The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire team for all their fantastic efforts over the past four years to make this a reality! 👏 We can’t wait to see the beavers hard at work once they’ve settled in, and you can too, by keeping an eye on the trail cameras on the Wildlife Trust Website👷♂️ #TheCrownEstate #Wildlife #Nature
