Naval Ravikant, the brilliant mind behind AngelList, and investor in hundreds of companies has this great quote on long-term thinking; "Play long-term games with long-term people. All returns in life, whether in wealth, relationships, or knowledge, come from compound interest." In a world fixated on instant gratification, these words serve as a reminder to focus on enduring value. Instead of chasing short-lived gains, invest efforts in cultivating deep connections, honing skills, and building sustainable ventures.

Naval Ravikant, in recent years, popularized the concept of leverage as a means of wealth creation — first capital, then labor, then code, and lastly — media. Although I don't begin to compare my wisdom or knowledge to his, I do offer a more tactical and differing view into how points of leverage can be found in everyday work. I expand my lens of leverage to see it more tactically into how we operate on a daily basis — seeing opportunities around us each day to increase outputs and thus outcomes without increasing our inputs. I see the identification and flexing of these leverage points to advance objectives we each face daily — most usefully to business execution. Whether it be: - Leveraging relationships to advance progress - Leveraging the unique skillset of a team to apply an advantage - Leveraging systems to maintain appropriate visibility and decision making Points of leverage exist all around us that allow us to get more done. As a leader, I view the challenges of the day - both short term and longer term - through the lens of leverage. Find what can help increase the outputs without increasing the inputs. Where are opportunities in your daily execution to identify leverage and use it to increase outputs?

Alignment significantly impacts success in life by harmonizing efforts and intentions among individuals, leading to greater achievements with less effort. When aligned with friends, colleagues, and family, actions and goals become more cohesive, amplifying the impact of collective efforts towards shared objectives. #management #ceo #leadership #marketing #humanresources #director
ROP (Return on Potential) is my favorite acronym although I’m an MD, PhD, MBA, CFA & a bunch of other acronyms people think matters. 4x’ing ROP @ Harvard, MIT, & Stanford & Founder/CEO of a multibillion dollar VC firm.
Alignment is one of the most important principles in life. Do we notice that when we are on the same page with… …our friends… …our colleagues… …our family… Everything seems to fall in place with much less effort? When we take the time to align our interests and intentions, our forces multiply… …and one small action shared amongst like-minded souls… …can carry forward to unimaginable heights. Shall we take the time to align ourselves with the people who matter most to us… …so that we may maximize and harmonize our efforts?

Can America lead the West? Chatham House 17 Jun 2024 Following the end of the Cold War, the US became a unipolar power in global affairs, shaping and leading the liberal rules-based order. US global supremacy, however, is now being called into question as the US, China and Russia battle for military, economic and technological supremacy on the world stage. Following the release of his recent book New Cold Wars, David E. Sanger, White House and National Security Correspondent, The New York Times will outline his thoughts on how America can defend itself and the West in the face of Russian and Chinese aggression. This event will explore: How is America adapting to a return of great power rivalry? How will this impact America’s ability to lead at the global level?

We often ignore the importance of specific knowledge because they don't seem to matter very much at the moment. In the book 'The Almanack Of Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness', Eric Jorgenson takes us through a collection of Naval Ravikant's wisdom and experience from the last ten years, shared as a curation of his most insightful interviews and poignant reflections. Naval Ravikant is an American entrepreneur and investor who perfectly describes specific knowledge which inspired me a lot. He stated that, Arm yourself with specific knowledge. ‣ Specific knowledge is a knowledge you cannot be trained for. ‣ It is found by pursuing your genuine curiosity and passion rather than whatever is trending right now. ‣ The habit of developing specific knowledge seems to be constructive play to you whereas it will look like work to others. ‣Specific knowledge is often highly technical or creative. It cannot be outsourced or automated. ‣It is found mainly by pursuing your genuine curiosity, passion and talent. One can never acquire it by going into whatever field the school or investor say is the hottest. ‣Apply specific knowledge, with leverage, and eventually you will get what you deserve.

🌟 Veterans bring a unique mindset to the workplace: one of teamwork and elevation. 💡 🇺🇸 AWP developed our Corporate Veteran Initiative (CVI) to proactively connect with veterans in the workplace and ensure access to quality resources and opportunities in collaboration with companies and the surrounding local community. 🎖️Medal of Honor Recipient Clint Romesha briefly discusses why CVI has the potential to succeed for many businesses. 👇 "For corporations realizing they can come and be with America’s Warrior Partnership, it will help elevate those veterans and take care of the needs that sometimes you might not see on a corporate level. You attract better talent that wants to elevate everybody around them."
