Some more funds range trimming taking place in Europe with this recent decisions over at Ninety One . Interesting to note that several of the funds closed/merged had AUM around the € 100 million level once considered as « good » to run a viable stand alone fund proposition… not anymore these days it appears. Several years ago I remember that the average fund size in the USA was $1 billion while it was 100 million in Europe… does anybody knows what it is today ? What is the optimum AUM size these days for a fund to be economically viable both for investors and for asset managers in Europe ? How much more has it increased ?
