When the work takes place outdoors, infinite are the lessons we can learn. 🙏
We were mindfully walking with the horses near the Wild Horse Garden, when my client and I spotted two perfect nesting cavities in my beautiful dead tree.
I smiled and nodded, saying, “ I knew you still had a purpose!”
Our resident woodpecker has chosen the dead tree for nesting. How smart of him, we thought. A dead tree is perfect with its softer wood for creating nesting cavities efficiently, and it’s also a good source of food, prone to insect infestations!
The woodpecker’s choice reflects its adaptation to efficiently utilise available resources in its environment.
As we reflected on this nature lesson, we imagined ourselves as human beings truly adapting to our environment in all aspects of life and striving for it!
We discussed Career Adaptation, imagining embracing new skills to stay relevant in our constantly changing job market. Then Sustainable Living became a topic, focusing on being environmentally responsible, making the most of what’s available, and reducing waste (I love the idea of nesting cavities being reused by other birds once abandoned by the woodpecker).
We also delved into Problem-Solving, dealing with challenges creatively and finding innovative solutions. Last but not least, we explored Personal Growth, adapting to various circumstances, fostering resilience, and flexibility.
Can you see why I love working in nature – and with nature – for the benefit of my community? ☺️
