Innovative Law Enforcement & Public Safety Leader | Visionary in Organizational Transformation & Workplace Culture | International Speaker & Published Author
Toronto, as the 4th largest city in North America, presents unique challenges and opportunities, especially in the realm of community safety. Toronto Community Housing, recognized as the 2nd largest social housing provider globally, is home to over 164,000 tenants across 2,240+ communities. Within this vast and diverse landscape, the Community Safety Unit stands as the largest front-facing Special Constable Agency in Canada - a testament to its dedication and scale. Leading frontline operations, and with delegated responsible charge of a $42,000,000 operating budget, I am privileged to work with a large team of uniformed peace officers who serve city-wide, supported by dedicated sergeants/ field supervisors, and a full dispatch and call center team. Our mission is clear: to protect and serve every corner of our Toronto Community Housing communities, ensuring that every resident feels safe and valued in their community. With three centrifugal reporting locations spread across the city, our operations are extensive, and the responsibility is immense. But it’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly. Every day, we strive to be more than just a presence - we aim to be a force for positive change, a source of security, and a partner in building stronger, safer communities. Each day, I’m reminded that leadership is not about holding a position; it’s about embracing the challenges and responsibilities that come with it. It’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve, and that’s a responsibility I am honored to carry. #leadership #publicsafety

Public Policy and Government Relations Professional | Regional Director, U.S. Senator Gary Peters | University of Michigan - Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, M.P.P. Candidate '24
In the past three months as a Regional Director, I've been deeply immersed in the vibrant heart of Detroit, working closely with our local communities. The journey has been both enlightening and profoundly rewarding, offering me firsthand insights into the power of tailored community outreach. Here are some key takeaways: 1. Listening is Fundamental: True engagement starts with listening. Detroit's diverse voices have taught me that understanding unique community needs leads to more impactful initiatives. 2. Collaboration Over Competition: Partnering with local leaders and organizations isn't just beneficial; it's essential. These collaborations strengthen our outreach efforts and multiply the impacts of our shared goals. 3. Adaptability is Key: Each community has its dynamics and challenges. Adapting our approach to meet these specific circumstances has been crucial in fostering trust and achieving our objectives. These insights have not only informed our strategic approaches but also deepened my dedication to advancing criminal justice reform and improving public policy. As I continue to learn and grow in this role, I am excited about the potential to drive even more meaningful change in the months and years to come! #CommunityOutreach #SocialJustice

ECAS Enforcement Teams, out spreading the messages against FOG; looking more like a Parking Enforcement or FOG SWAT Team!! Water Companies outsourcing their Regulatory obligations to private FOG SWAT Teams needs industry debate! Do you really need hi vis, body cams, radios and all that PPE to take a look at a kitchen's grease management?
We’re not the only ones engaging local community members! One of our team, out and about on behalf of Severn Trent, got talking to the Central BID team in Birmingham about the valuable work we do. #communityengagement #birmingham #environmentalprotection
