Through the IBH Model, participating state Medicaid agencies will aim to improve behavioral and physical health outcomes for individuals with Medicaid and Medicare who have moderate to severe behavioral health conditions. Timely access to mental health services is a vital part of patient-centered care and for many #raredisease patients, directly correlated with key health outcomes. Unfortunately, the fragmented U.S. healthcare system often makes it difficult for patients to access the mental health services they need, and the problem is particularly acute for patients from historically undeserved communities. 📢 CMS is now accepting applications for the Innovation in Behavioral Health (IBH) Model: go.cms.gov/ibh-nofo. Under the IBH Model, participating state Medicaid agencies will aim to improve behavioral and physical health outcomes for people with Medicaid and Medicare who have moderate to severe behavioral health conditions. Submit your application in response to the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) by September 9, 2024. Award notices will be issued in mid-December. CMS will select up to eight state Medicaid agencies to participate in the IBH Model.
