Karen lived in her truck camper for over a year, facing the harsh realities of homelessness in Los Angeles. In 2023, she received life-changing news that a home was available at The Quincy, a new supportive community for formerly unhoused seniors. Developed by Wakeland Housing and Development Corporation, The Quincy also benefits from onsite services provided by The People Concern. Century Housing supported Wakeland with acquisition and predevelopment financing and sponsored a successful Affordable Housing Program loan application to help make this property a reality. Now living at The Quincy, Karen can finally breathe easy. She’s closer to her daughter and has the space to consider her next steps, like finishing her marketing degree and pursuing her hobbies. “Without hope, I have nothing. And every day here is hopeful,” Karen shared. Karen's story is a testament to the impact of #supportivehousing and the dedication of organizations like Wakeland and The People Concern. 📖 Read more about Century's partnerships and impact in our annual report: https://lnkd.in/gjE55fws #CDFI #housing
