Genuinely, when not being used as political capital this is the Farm Answer: For small and medium farmers to effectively adopt more efficient and environmentally friendly production methods, governments need to simplify access to support mechanisms and provide clear, consistent, and personalised guidance. By addressing these challenges, it will be possible to increase food production sustainably and minimise environmental damage. Many of the mechanisms exist, the clear access to and resulting paper dump is arguably the worst there has ever been for any sector. Harper Adams University Hartpury University and Hartpury College Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs The Reality of Food Production and Environmental Costs Current Agricultural Challenges: Increasing Food Demand: The global population is expected to reach nearly 10 billion by 2050, requiring a significant increase in food production. Environmental Impact: Traditional agricultural practices often lead to significant environmental degradation, including soil erosion, water pollution from chemical runoff, and loss of biodiversity. Climate Change: Agriculture is both a contributor to and affected by climate change. It accounts for about 10-12% of global greenhouse gas emissions but is also vulnerable to climate-induced disruptions.
