What a wonderful experience to have in a submarine rated to 200metres depth. Imagine the engineering performed by Tasmanian company Finite Elements to support the DeepSea challenger’s team to invent its material of construction and meticulously design all elements of the 7m long solo manned submersible that conveyed a human explorer nearly 11,000 metres deep in 2012. That adventure, 6 years in the making, remains an astonishing example to this day of Australian engineering talent. To further place in perspective, the Titanic rests at just over 3,800 meters depth.
