The Measurand Unbalance and its Metrological Traceability is a Unique Selling Point of Schenck. 👉 The Unbalance is an independent Measurand in gmm and requires Metrological Traceability. 👉 Neither the control of Geometry and Mass nor their Metrological Traceability to Geometry and Mass are sufficient to determine the Residual Unbalance with reliable Measurement Uncertainty and to fully calibrate Unbalance Measuring Systems. Test repetitions only provide information on the scatter of the measurements. 👉 To determine the real Measurement Uncertainty, a recognized Reference Standard for the Unbalance is required. 𝗙𝗲₂𝗢₃ + 𝟮 𝗔𝗹 ➡ 𝟮 𝗙𝗲 + 𝗔𝗹₂𝗢₃ + 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 ...is the reaction formula for the Thermit® process, which Hans Goldschmidt invented and for which he obtained the Imperial Patent back in 1895. The starting material for the process is Thermit® - a mixture of aluminium granules and iron oxide. 🔥 After initial ignition of the Thermit® portion, a highly exothermic reaction sets in. Temperatures of around 2,500 degrees Celsius arise, producing molten, pure iron. However, this Thermit® iron is still too soft for joining rails! 💪 That's why we add steel-forming alloy additives to the Thermit® portions to achieve the right characteristics. Optimized Mixing for Anoxic Processes The Tideflex® Hydraulic Mixing System is a multi-port, variable orifice nozzle system. The Tideflex® nozzles are variable orifice due to the flexible nozzle opening, the nozzle will only open to the area required to handle the mass flow as compared to fixed area nozzles. The discharge velocity from the Tideflex® nozzles is always optimized as it will have the minimal open area and highest discharge velocity. Mixing in these systems is defined by velocity gradient achieved, this gradient is determined by the total mass flow and the velocity discharged from each nozzle.
