Are nurses valued appropriately by the system? On Wednesday, I'll be in Washington D.C educating #Congress for improved nursing reimbursement. Many people aren't aware that in numerous hospitals, nursing care is often bundled into the room rate rather than billed separately. This billing strategy was actually adapted from the hotel industry, where room charges typically include housekeeping services. However, this approach in healthcare fails to accurately reflect the specialized skills and critical care that nurses provide. Our goal is to advocate for a #reimbursement model that properly recognizes and values the essential role of nurses in patient care. Lets go nurses!!! And lets go Commission for Nurse Reimbursement !!
Nurses, make your voice heard! Tomorrow, a group of dedicated nurses and healthcare leaders will be in Washington, D.C., meeting with #senators and #representatives to advocate for a modernized reimbursement structure for nursing services. This is a critical step towards recognizing the value of nurses within our #healthcare delivery system. Can't join us? No worries! You can reach out to your senators and representatives today to express your support for the Commission and the need to unbundle nurses from the room rate. Remember -- Your voice matters! #nursesonlinkedin #healthcareonlinkedin #nursesunite #advocateforchange #reimburseforthenurse Rebecca Love RN, MSN, FIEL Sharon Pearce Jasmine Bonder Michelle Bernabe, RN, KAT Melinda Pariser-Schmidt Ajay Kumar Gupta Kimberly Chow, DNP, MBA, RN

**"Nursing: The Heart of Healthcare"** Today, I stand in awe of the nurses who rise every day with unwavering dedication, carrying the weight of human lives in their hands. Nursing is not just a profession; it’s a calling—one that requires endless compassion, resilience, and strength. In every shift, nurses are the first to offer comfort in moments of fear and the last to leave after providing care. They are the silent heroes, embodying grace under pressure, healing in times of uncertainty, and hope when it seems most distant. To every nurse, your work is not just seen; it is felt deeply by every patient you touch. You are the foundation of healthcare, the ones who truly make a difference. Let today be a reminder of your profound impact on the world, and may you continue to rise, knowing that your role is nothing short of extraordinary. Together, we carry forward a vision of care that is compassionate, innovative, and deeply human. **#NursingLeadership #HealthcareHeroes #NursesInspire #CompassionInAction**

This week, May 6-12, is National Nurses Week. Celebrate by recognizing the challenges faced by nurses and the importance of supporting their wellbeing. 🙆♀️ According to a study by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, around 100,000 registered nurses left the workforce in the past two years, with another 700,000 intending to leave by 2027. The heart of the issue is chronic understaffing, coupled with feelings of being undervalued and overworked. Healthcare organizations must listen and act. Read more about retaining nursing talent and supporting healthcare workers below. 🌼 #NationalNursesWeek #WorkhumanSupportsNurses

The Power of Nurses: Advocates for Change Every day, nurses stand on the frontlines, not just delivering care, but making a profound difference in the lives of their patients. Nurses are more than caregivers; they are leaders, advocates, and changemakers who shape the future of healthcare. But what makes a great nurse in today’s challenging environment? 1. Courage to Speak Up: Nurses often see the gaps in care firsthand. When they have the courage to voice concerns, suggest improvements, and fight for their patients, real change happens. 2. Commitment to Learning: Healthcare is ever-evolving. The best nurses are lifelong learners, staying up to date with the latest practices to provide the highest quality care. 3. Compassion in Action: It’s easy to overlook the human side of healthcare when systems become overwhelming. Yet, the nurses who consistently deliver compassionate care inspire those around them and set a high standard for everyone in the field. Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare. By supporting them, we not only improve patient outcomes but also create a healthier, stronger system for everyone. #NurseLeadership #HealthcareAdvocacy #CompassionateCare #HealthcareInnovation #NurseEmpowerment
