Check out the toolkits from the NIH Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Community Engagement Consultative Resource (CEACR) As part of the CEACR project, CCPH and our partners at the University of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute have published three new toolkits to support community-engaged research. CEACR’s toolkits offer expert guidance to help improve research participants’ experiences when you conduct studies. We keep recruiting seriously impressive Senior Associates at Outside Opinion: people who are born research leaders and teachers with long careers helping others to success. Good people know good people, and that is how we build our network: by recommendation and invitation. Our health and medical experts are outstanding and very diverse, with excellent track records as grant-winners themselves, as leaders of successful teams and as members of NHMRC and other panels. No better adviser than someone who has done it themselves to a high degree of excellence. Template grant advice is helpful, sure, and we can help with models. Advice from OO senior scholars does more: it challenges and supports researchers, building research skills and scientific understanding in the longer term.

This week our Acting CEO, Sergio Carmona, spoke with the UK House of Commons Science, Innovation and Technology Committee, alongside Dr In-Kyu Yoon, Acting Executive Director of Vaccine Research & Development, CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations), to share insights on lessons learned from #COVID19. Here are some key points from the meeting: 1️⃣ Continuing the #100DaysMission ◼️ Global collaborations led to the rapid development and availability of tests, and we must keep this momentum going to prepare rather than be crisis-oriented. ◼️ The continued political support from the G20 and G7, including the UK government, is critical. ◼️ Linking 100DM aspirations with other global initiatives will help maintain focus in #PandemicPreparedness. 2️⃣ Global Collaboration ◼️ Initiatives like the ACT-Accelerator led to remarkable achievements, reducing the time for the availability of tests, procuring millions for LMICs, and engaging communities globally. ◼️ We must strengthen public-private partnerships for ongoing progress.
