Leaders should ask for feedback more often. And not just in company-wide surveys—but in 1:1s and team meetings as well. Not only does it promote trust and transparency, but it shows that you, too, are willing to adapt and do better. C-level executives, VPs, managers: I challenge you in your next 1:1s and team meetings to ask your direct reports, no matter how junior, for feedback. No matter how hard it may be to hear, the fact you asked, listened intently, and expressed commitment to doing better will make a world of difference. Leaders, the ball is in your court.

Enhanced Communication: Empathetic leaders listen actively and understand their team members' perspectives, leading to more effective communication. 2. Stronger Relationships: By showing genuine care and concern, leaders can build trust and loyalty within their team. 3. Improved Conflict Resolution: Understanding different viewpoints helps leaders address conflicts constructively, finding solutions that satisfy everyone involved. Tips for Developing Empathy 1. Active Listening: Pay full attention when others speak. Show that you value their input by acknowledging their feelings and perspectives. 2.
