It’s great to celebrate beginnings but there’s something more important to celebrate. When we start something new it’s usually cause for celebration. And for good reason. It’s great to start something new. Whether it’s starting... -a new business -a new career -a new endeavor -a new goal It’s great to celebrate starting something because getting started is half the battle. But I think it’s more important to celebrate sticking with something. Celebrate not giving up. Celebrate finishing something. Sometimes, seeing things to the end and just sticking with it is much harder. It’s easy to quit, it’s hard to keep going. Especially when things get difficult and seem impossible. So celebrate those times when you feel like giving up but you just keep going. Celebrate when you see something to the end Celebrate when you cross that finish line. Keep going and never give up.

Here we are! At the doorsteps of a brand-new year. 📆 And most of us begin to ponder what we’ve actually accomplished in the past twelve months. But why is it important to do that? Three reasons this kind of self-reflection is so important: 🌟 It helps you refocus on how far you've come. Taking time to pat yourself on the back for a job well done is a powerful way to remember that no matter what life throws at you, you’ll have the grit to work through it. 🌟 It helps you connect the dots in life. When we're in the daily grind, we often lose sight of the bigger picture. Reflecting back over a longer period of time helps us see the connections that we might have otherwise missed. 🌟 It can help you decide what to bring with you into the New Year and what should be left behind. Not all things need to be carried forward. Reflecting helps you realize what you want to leave in the past. When you look back over this past year, what are some of YOUR highlights? Share your top one or two. I can't wait to hear them and celebrate with you. 🙌

Celebrate your successes. All too often we get bogged down in the day-to-day details of things—pieces of projects we aren’t satisfied with, deadlines that aren’t met, how we could have done things ‘better’. Truly, the minutia of things. But when we stop for a moment, breathe, take a step back, and look at the whole picture, something changes. It’s eye-opening. Seeing all the particulars in place, together, creating something grand. It truly has been a long 9 months getting our #CRR initiative, DRIVE to Thrive, up and going; and keeping it moving along through next year at times sounds daunting. Recently, though, I have had two opportunities to share this city-wide concept with others, from conception to now, from small details to the whole picture. And let me tell you, the rush of endorphins after each of these interactions is amazing. It feels good. No, great. It’s a reflection of all of yourself you pour into your projects, successful or not. It’s freeing, and it’s validating. It’s nothing short of amazing. So take time today, or someday soon, to share what you’re doing. Share with a friend. A co-worker. Me, even! Because let me tell you, it’s awesome (but rare) to celebrate your successes.
