Much of the #EV #ecosystem #data – including vehicle characteristics, #battery status, #grid #capacity, and charging stations performance – is not shared today due to concerns over proprietary data, loss of competitive advantage for automakers, #cyber and privacy risks. Check out our new demo video on O-RAN Hierarchical Traffic Management in Advanced Vehicular Scenarios: https://lnkd.in/dnyVe6MU In our tandem rApp-xApp implementation, we concentrated on performance improvement of the heterogeneous network, where various types of users were present. Through the asynchronous yet simultaneous functioning of two applications, Traffic Management (TM-rApp) and Traffic Steering (TS-xApp), the number of handovers has been minimized while maintaining the required QoS levels. TM-rApp controls the operation of the TS-xApp utilizing A1 policies while using inputs both from the network (through O1) and from Enrichment Information (e.g., from the V2X application server) Two use cases have been considered: 🔷autonomous platooning: here, the TM-rApp and TS-xApp role is to guarantee handover minimization in the case of high-mobility users, as well as minimize outage for low-latency traffic users; when the platoon is approaching, we utilize the EI about the platoon route; 🔶car accidents: in case of a car accident, the traffic profile in the analyzed region changes; moreover, the public safety services and first responders should take precedence in accessing spectrum resources. Particular attention has been put on the efficient usage of E2 SMs, and A1 policies, but also Enrichment Information and perspectives of Y1 interface usage. #DEFA e-range duo, 2 x 11 kW electric vehicle charger, 4 years old, hacked with a 1$ trick nicely, my ugly key, done in 5 min works like a charm, you won't even notice I have opened the case, even though you can brute force this simple lock with almost anything. Multiple attack points, since you have 220V already, empty place on the electrical rail for an extra power source. Install your 5 port switch so it listens on ports 1 and 2 and clones traffic on 3 and 4, even a router, or whatever on #DEFA and sniff CLU's traffic. Good thing, it's not an OCCP model, but there are plenty of things to play around with, for a serious actor. If I was a bad guy, or if some of the vehicles besides the chargers, were a matter of someone's interest, that happens to be the #GWMOra, #VolvoEX40, #WV #ID4, #Tesla model Y, in front of me (they are not!!!) you can sabotage them immediately. Basic sabotage, is to just frustrate the owners by switching off the charger, manipulating the locking pin on the charging cable,.......etc. Luckily they are all my neighbors, and I am fixing bad internet connectivity, and helping out my community. But think like a #hacker can't be turned off, and what a blessing it is to have this perspective! CPO's - or Charge Point Operators, basic stuff in business and especially IT, since everything is cloud managed/CRM, know and document your assets, and secure them!!! It's in your interest, if you have contracts with #Strype or whatever PSP, and if you take a ton of commission in % on every kW electrical energy sold!!! #DEFA decided, to software secure their charger, but other manufacturers thought about physical #security and #ITSecurity differently. #emobility is maturing, and security needs to follow basic expectations. #Sustainability, #EmissionFree, #Automotiveindustry, #GreenTech
