The judgment from this case is well worth reviewing in full for anyone with an interest in belief discrimination cases, but at 77 pages, if you want a streamlined summary of the key points to keep you going, then do please have a look at my article on the Cloisters website.
Judgment was handed down today (6 March 2024) in the EAT case of Seyi Omooba v (1) Michael Garrett Associates Ltd (t/a Global Artists) and (2) Leicester Theatre Trust Ltd. Chris Milsom and Tom Coghlin of Cloisters successfully resisted all grounds of appeal on behalf of the First and Second Respondents respectively. The case provides welcome guidance for distinguishing cases where treatment is because of a belief / its objectionable manifestation and cases where there is a truly separable reason. The case also considers the potential for “automatic” harassment findings following breaches of the ECHR, costs awards taking into account the means of third parties, and the use of documents once a hearing has ended. Current Cloisters pupil Adam Pincott has summarised the key points from a lengthy and important judgment.: https://lnkd.in/dK4FuMBq

Develop those skills
On the 5th of August, the Michaelhouse Jazz Band showcased their talent at the "All Stars Shine: A Showcase of KZN Schools Talent" concert held at The Playhouse Theatre. Among several skilled school and community ensembles, I am proud to say the Michaelhouse boys delivered an impressive performance, receiving enthusiastic applause. Gqamile Mbuyazi and Luneziwe Mshengu's vocal prowess stirred the crowd, evoking cheers and applause midway through their songs. The concert ended in a finale featuring all the participating ensembles performing a mass item. Michaelhouse extends its gratitude to Natalie Rungan and The Playhouse Theatre for their gracious hosting and the opportunity to perform in such an iconic South African venue.

This ad is simply magic.
TICK followed TOCK followed TICK followed TOCK followed TICK Today marks the 25th Anniversary of Guinness ’Surfer’ (1999) Directed by Jonathan Glazer “Back in 1999 no one was asking for a black and white ad with horses sharing a choppy sea with surf dudes soundtracked by electronic dance music and passages from Moby Dick. Why would they? There’s no frame of reference for it. The uncomfortable truth (for some) is people don’t know what they want until you give it to them. 'Surfer' is a film of instinct, emotion and gut feel born from inarguable logic. It’s not a film that’s trying to please people with what we think they want.” - Andy Jex, CCO, TBWA\London Happy St Patrick's Day! Sláinte! Muslims have been killing each other and all not Muslim since time immemorial! The idea of Israel Genocide in Palstine is the fable of Islamic Victimization. A Question of Genocide: Armenians and Turks at the End of the Ottoman Empire Search in this book https://lnkd.in/eUPPYq6E Online ISBN: 9780190254315 Print ISBN: 9780195393743 Publisher: Oxford University Press BOOK A Question of Genocide: Armenians and Turks at the End of the Ottoman Empire Get access Arrow Ronald Grigor One hundred years after the deportations and mass murder of Armenians, Assyrians, and other peoples in the final years of the Ottoman Empire, the history of the Armenian Genocide remains a victim of historical distortion, state-sponsored falsification, and the deep divisions between Armenians and Turks. This book presents a reconstruction of what happened and why. While the word “genocide” still divides communities, there is no longer any serious doubt that the Young Turk government ordered and carried out in 1915–1916 mass deportations and massacres targeted toward designated ethnoreligious groups.
FATHER OF A HOSTAGE: DON’T MAKE A DEAL Watch and listen to Eli Shtivi. His son Idan was kidnapped from the Nova festival. His graphic testimony at a Knesset hearing yesterday is hard to listen to. But you MUST watch and listen to it…

For this year's celebration, it will be a little more comfortable... 🤩 One hundred years after the first season, the Welttheater Einsiedeln will be staged as an open-air theater for the 17th time in 2024. For the 100th anniversary, there will be covered grandstands for the audience for the first time. These are currently being erected by our crew members in front of the baroque monastery church ⛪ 🛠️. They are nimble. Every move is perfect, and the grandstands are growing day by day, as you can see in the following video 😊 #eventstructures #eventbau #temporarysolutions #eventsolution #buildingbigmoments #buildingmemories #sustainability #connectingyou

Broadway was first nicknamed the “Great White Way” back in 1902 due to the bright lights of the marquees, billboards, and posters. The Olympia was the first Broadway theater to use electric lights in 1895. But the theater scene is not where the internationally known, north-south thoroughfare got its name. Broadway is a translation from the Dutch phrase brede weg, or "broad road." Here’s a fun fact: Broadway follows the “Mohican Trail” created by the Lenape. #propertymanagement #propertymanager #propertycare #propertymaintenance #homemaintenance #nyc #residential #manhattan #history #broadway
