A Lesson from 'The Bear' 🐻 During a binge-watch session of 'The Bear' last week, I was fascinated by one character, Tina - an older Latina chef. Years of monotonous work in a greasy Chicago restaurant kitchen left Tina unnoticed, her skills unrefined, and her attitude, understandably, tinged with indignance. But the new Michelin-trained owner and another chef recognize untapped potential in Tina. They send her to culinary school. An act of faith and trust not many would dare. But this act transcended mere skill development. It shattered the barriers of her fear and insecurity, igniting a renewed confidence.🔥 I can't stop thinking about Tina, and others like her. We've all seen and experienced the transformative power of belief. When someone believes in you, it's like a light is turned on in a room you didn't even know was dark. 💡 Who in your orbit is like Tina? Who has potential that’s just waiting to be acknowledged and nurtured? Will you be the one to turn on the light? ✨ Your challenge today: Find a Tina in your world. Offer them your belief, your support, your acknowledgment. You might be unlocking a door to a world of potential they never knew they had. ❤️🩹 #AuthenticLeadership #SuccessMindset #UnlockingPotential

Re-sharing this post from my friend, René Siegel 🙋🏻♀️, for two big reasons: First, I had a call this morning with someone who "accidentally" stumbled into their career. They went to school for music (Jazz, specifically), and as they neared graduation, began to really confront the fact that it's hard work to make a living in music. To help bridge the gap, they took a night shift customer support role. As time went on there, a colleague noticed that this person was doing more than just answering phones.. they'd been able to do a variety of things on their computer (a dummy terminal of the time) that many other folks never did. The colleague said, in essence: "I notice that you're able to do much more with that computer than most. Any interest in joining my team? You can keep your night shift role, but focus on operations and continue learning more about computers and programing." Long story short: this individual went on to build an enviable career across engineering, product management, and business development. And all because someone "noticed." I still remember when (a very long time ago 🤣), René noticed something about me. I had shared one of my first "official" resumes and cover letters with her as I was nearing my college graduation, and I had taken some liberties on the cover letter specifically. Not sure how it would be received, I remember so vividly Rene telling me it was one of the most authentic cover letters she'd ever read. Her noticing that detail meant the world to me and was one of the earliest signs for me that perhaps story telling could be a meaningful part of my career. Fast forward to today: I believe in my core that stories are one of the most powerful tools we can all use to get where we want to be. Who will you notice today? And more importantly, what will you do about it?

"Do you know why cooks cook?" "Cooks cook to nurture people." This chef speaks of cooking as an act of nurturing: nurturing oneself, the team, the guests, even the farmers, fishermen, and gardeners who bring forth the ingredients. Every day is an opportunity to make just a small effort, to be just a little better than the day before. Those tiny, consistent acts compound over the years, building a legacy—not just of skill and technique but of love, care, and impact. He says, "We are here today because of those who came before us, and we carry forward their legacy through the simple yet profound act of nurturing." This is the Noble Purpose that transforms cooking from a task into a profound profession. It elevates the ordinary act of preparing a meal into something far more meaningful—a way to nurture, to serve, to love. Imagine if every task, every action in our lives, was viewed through this lens of service to a Noble Purpose. Suddenly, the mundane becomes magic. The everyday transforms into the extraordinary. Work becomes worship. Whatever our role or profession, if we align it to serve a Noble Purpose, the mundane becomes magical, and the routine becomes divine. ✨ When we approach our daily tasks—whether leading a team, writing an email, or crafting a product—with serving the Noble Purpose, we transcend the ordinary. We find deeper meaning, joy, and fulfillment in every action. Find your Noble Purpose, and watch how it elevates every effort, every day, every moment. Because when aligned to a Noble Purpose, we don’t just work— We create. We nurture. We inspire. We bring magic into the world. 😎 #NoblePurpose #Inspiration #Leadership #LifeLessons GINPI (Global Inspiration and Noble Purpose Institute)

Building Leaders, Scaling Businesses, Embracing Adventure ✦ 20+ Years Scaling B2B SaaS, Fundraising & 1x Exit ✦ Guided 500+ Leaders & Career Changers to Reach Their Peak
Imagine me, a business coach and outdoor enthusiast, trying to be a sushi chef. There I am, rice everywhere but in the seaweed, fish slices too thick, avocado escaping with every roll. My sushi? More abstract art than an appetizer. I’ve led teams through growth and innovation, but sushi making? That’s a different kind of challenge. My culinary attempts would be a lesson in how not to make sushi, a humorous reminder of when ambition meets lack of skill. Hats off to the sushi masters for their artistry. Me? I’ll stick to what I know best: empowering leaders and embracing the great outdoors. My sushi saga may not be menu-worthy, but it’s a testament to trying new things, even when the results are laughably unpredictable. Feeling inspired or amused? Share this post. Let’s celebrate our strengths and the joy of stepping out of our comfort zones. #melgordon #melanigordon #businesscoach #leadershipdevelopment #salescoaching #careercoach #HustleToHarmony #RenoTahoeLife #staylocaltahoe
