Redefining the Future with Next-Gen Materials Imagine this: 60 brilliant minds, 41 groundbreaking submissions and one shared vision for a sustainable, technologically advanced future. This was the reality of our recent Future Materials Program at ekipa and the results were nothing short of extraordinary. 📈 What's truly remarkable? An astounding 93,18% of the initially interested teams actually submitted their concepts. Getting this kind of active participation all the way through is pretty uncommon in open innovation. It really shows that our Open Innovation Challenges don’t just attract ideas; they spark enthusiasm and commitment. 🔍 But why does this matter to you? Because you can be a part of this thriving community of innovators. Your idea has a place here, where it can contribute to meaningful advancements in science, technology and innovation. 🌐 The Qualification Phase for the current Future Materials Program may be over, but the journey of innovation is far from finished. All the details about the challenges can be found here: https://lnkd.in/eHnBmi5d Have you ever imagined being at the forefront of sustainable innovation? We're already prepping for our next set of challenges and can't wait to see the incredible ideas our community will bring next. Join us and bring your ideas to life. I've spent most of my life at the intersection where people and technology meet. There's very little I get more excited about than watching people interact with the systems I've built. When I deploy an app or site, I like to spend days watching real time usage of it. I go through report after report, building visualizations of the data. Then I start attempting to improve adoption by fractions of a percentage. I become obsessed with the user. I'll fight to change a library or component if it's even causing less than 1% of people to have any outcome I don't intend. It can drive my colleagues a little crazy even though our goal is the same. I believe his comes from studying psychology and electrical engineering in school. Even though I had a teacher tell me it would be unlikely that I would excel in both because of the difference in left and right brain focus between the two, it felt like the only way to do it. When I would tell people the focus of my studies a lot of them would look at me in confusion. "How do you you land on those two things?" "How do you apply psychology to electrical engineering?" To me it was simple. I wanted to design systems that people used so I had to better understand the system and also the person using it. I believe that focus has put me on a path to being a great product leader. Watching this fifteen second video makes me smile because I really appreciate the fact that it's a very simple deployment of technology with an impressive human response. This is what I try to do with every page, every interaction, and everything in-between when I'm building. The best engineering feels like magic, and I hold on to that phrase throughout my processes. #productleaders #softwaredesign #UX #UI

Our CCO & Co-Founder Dr. Christoph Selig summarized some thoughts on current developments in the #AAM industry from an innovation perspective - interesting read to understand what is currently happening and what potentially will happen in the next time in the #eVTOL industry.
Having spent the last year at various #AAM conferences around the world, I have heard more and more people talking about how the industry dynamics are shifting and that there may be a wave of consolidation in the coming months. I used the Easter break to summarize some thoughts from my previous life as an #innovation researcher and the current developments we are seeing in the market to underline that we are entering a new phase in the #eVTOL industry, which is linked to the emergence of a #dominantdesign (or maybe two designs) and that with this clarity the focus of the industry will change quite significantly, impacting the various eVTOL companies as well as the #ecosystem around them. I hope you enjoy the read and look forward to any feedback or questions you may have.

I admit my background is so similar to Dr. Selig, I was both agreeing and trying to discount his ideas. I have been in the technology development industry from the consumer and producer side backed by my MBA in technology management. I also have four years of focused research and consultation in the AAM industry, so I thought I should be more of the “expert”. That said, I agree with all of the discussion and find it very helpful! Thanks for the great analysis based on exceptional background data. But I can’t help adding some points (that’s the easiest thing to do right?). 1. While he touches on this in the selection phase, public acceptance (demand) for the product also matures and changes throughout the three phases. I would say this has an important shaping element-as much as physics in some cases. So the evolution to a dominant design will continue through this M&A / consolidation of the industry. 2. After the consolidation phase, innovation does not stop. Competition will push more discrimination of design and new technologies (hydrogen energy, ubiquitous energy transport, autonomy) to expand /change / add to the dominant designs incrementally until the next tech breakthrough. All in all an excellent read. Thanks for the post Dr. Christoph Selig #aam #singleseatconaulting

Wondering how deliberate choices shape cultural success? 🤔 In this insightful article by Bryan Cantrill, he shares a case study of how Oxide's culture fosters innovation, collaboration and problem solving. Below are key takeaways from this piece 👇 🔶 Regular demo Fridays foster empathy, teamwork and curiousity among colleagues. This encourages the sharing of knowledge and creative problem solving. 🔶 Oxide promotes non hierarchical integration of the team. The culture includes openness, curiosity and communication and discourages defensiveness, empire-building and gatekeeping. 🔶 The culture aligns with mission, principles and values of oxide. Some of them are: ➡️ Uniform compensation ➡️ No formalized review process ➡️ Remote work force ➡️ Record every meeting but not every conversation 🔶 Building a culture is similar to nurturing a living organism. It evolves over time and demands deliberate effort without being overly prescriptive. Hats off to Bryan Cantrill for sharing invaluable insights into engineering culture at Oxide. Truly inspiring! ✨
