Did you know that insurance plays a crucial role in protecting our nation's architectural heritage? We recently took on an extraordinary challenge: securing coverage for the renovation of the Grade I-listed North Wing at St Bartholomew's Hospital, one of London's most iconic landmarks. This wasn't your typical insurance placement. It required: ℹ Deep market knowledge 🤝 Extensive negotiations ✅ Creative problem-solving Why? Because standard policies often fall short when it comes to the unique risks associated with historic buildings. As our CEO Brett Sainty puts it: "Projects like this are ensuring the survival of some of the UK's greatest buildings. We have a responsibility within the insurance industry to facilitate these types of placements and to remember that our role includes enabling the provision of risk transfer to underpin the wider economic environment and not become a barrier to business trading and projects." We're proud to have played a part in safeguarding this piece of British history. Want to learn more about how we approached this unique project? Check out our detailed case study here: https://lnkd.in/e_9-j8fg And if you're inspired to support the ongoing renovations at Barts Hospital, we've included information on how you can contribute. #insurance #heritageproperties #insurancebroker #heritageengland #londonmarket #trustedadvisor

🏰 Case Study of the Week: Leinster Georgian Mansion Valuation Our valuations takes us to all corners of the country, but this week, our property valuation took us to a piece of history – a Georgian mansion in Leinster, Ireland, dating back to the 1830s. This was on behalf of one of our HNW broker partners. This fine period home which is a protected structure is set above 4 levels in the Leinster region. Notably, this property holds the distinguished classification of being a 'High-Net Worth' property – an area of expertise we specialise in. Our commitment extends beyond valuation; we aim to secure and safeguard assets of historical and cultural significance! Current Coverage: 💸 Sums Insured: €4.9M ⏰ Rebuild Period: 24 months Our Recommendations: 💡 Adjust Sums Insured: €10.3M ⏳ Extend Rebuild Period: 36 months 🚨 Critical Issue: The property is underinsured by a staggering 52.4%! Why does it matter? The implications of underinsurance can be devastating. In the event of damage or loss, insufficient coverage may lead to financial strain, compromised restoration, and prolonged recovery. Great interview in Insurance Post this week with our UK CEO Michael Rea covering everything from record-breaking revenue and recruitment of talent to rates, deal rationale and rugby – as Gallagher becomes the first broking firm to break through the £1bn revenue barrier in sister title Insurance Age’s annual Top 100 UK Insurance Brokers. While scale is valued at Gallagher, Michael tells Jonathan Swift why it will never be as important as consistent and sustainable growth: “Scale should not be just for vanity. It is only important if you do something with it: bring the best possible solutions to clients and make sure you get the best insurer deals in the market. We are really focused on growing the business year-on-year because that means a few things: it makes us investable, whether that is in people or tech platforms. So having growth and cash flow is important and that is what we tend to focus on.” For the full UK broker rankings from Insurance Age, head here > https://lnkd.in/dphVhXNF
Having taken on the Gallagher UK CEO role at the start of the year, Micheal Rea talks to Jonathan Swift about breaking the £1bn revenue barrier, the benefits of scale, putting M&A on hold and why the market is in transition in terms of rates. https://hubs.li/Q02SvktM0

Good advice to those in strata world concerned about revelations, of sharp & shady practices in Oz strata industry, in upcoming 4 Corners. Do watch it.
Strata management consultant & researcher, strata business development, operating systems, how to guides, and training for strata managers in all Australian states and territories.
It’s been an eventful day in #strata and it’s not over yet. In the lead up to the Four Corners @ABC show at 8.30 pm tonight, this is what we know so far. 1. Leading strata management firms, PICA and Bright and Duggan have been named in relation to insurance brokerage arrangements of concern to the ACCC. 2. Steadfast Insurance (SDF) has been named in relation to brokerage arrangements. Shares dropped 6.1% before calling a trading halt pending an announcement on Wednesday. 3. The ABC received more than 2,600 complaints from strata owners Australia wide. 4. Issues to be covered tonight include more than insurance brokerage and will cover excessive debt collection fees, naming a Victorian OC manager. 5. Building defect cover ups and conflicts will be alleged against a OC manager in NSW, apparently now under investigation by the NSW Department of Fair Trading. 6. NSW Strata and Property Commissioner, John Minns, has stood aside pending an investigation into his disclosure of interests in a strata management and real estate company – he denies these allegations. 7. Minister Anoulack Chanthivong will face questions in NSW Budget Estimates tomorrow about the effectiveness of a bill presently before the NSW Parliament to deal with conflicts of interest and related party transactions. 8. The ABC will call tonight for vigilance by strata owners which will put pressure on everyone tomorrow, including those that have done nothing wrong. Be kind to each other. Be open with clients and offer to do things differently if they would like. This too will pass, and we will all be better for the experience if we are brave and work to better standards. You can are my predictions on some positive outcomes from these events at https://lnkd.in/gEP4h8qA
