Children's books have a profound impact on shaping young minds and fostering empathy, understanding, and acceptance. When children see characters from diverse backgrounds, cultures, abilities and experiences, it opens up their world and teaches them to embrace differences. Let's strive for a world where every child can find themselves within the pages of a book, where differences are celebrated, and inclusion is the norm. 🌈✨ #DiversityInBooks #InclusionMatters #ChildrensLiterature #ReadersOfTomorrow

I am excited to announce the publication of a book chapter on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by the Taylor and Francis Group. The chapter is titled "Trials and Tribulations of LGBTQ+ People at Work as Barriers to Their Job Satisfaction: A Minority Stress Theory Perspective." This qualitative research paper is based on semi-structured interviews with 32 LGBTQ+ individuals in the workplace. Writing this paper was an eye-opening experience for me, and it has deepened my understanding of DEI initiatives and the lived experiences of the participants at the workplace. A big shoutout to my co-authors Gauri Priya and Sayantan Datta. #LGBTQ+ #Diversity, Equity and Inclusion #Pride Please find the abstract from: https://lnkd.in/gWzbbEcj

BIPOC Children, students, LGBQTIA+ individuals and more deserve to have access to a diverse range of books that represent their stories! The Daily Kos petition states, “In the first half of the 2022-23 school year, 30% of banned books were related to race or featured characters of color, while more than half of those banned in 2023 focused on LGBTQ+ issues. The escalation of book bans is a calculated effort by conservative advocacy groups and state legislators to curtail access to a broad range of ideas and stories. This movement is not just about removing individual titles; it's an orchestrated campaign to suppress free expression and erase diversity.” 📚 Take action and sign the petition here:
