Let’s write history together… 🏸 In two months, 60 days exactly, we are launching something quite ambitious: The World's greatest FUNdraising event. On April 5,6,7 2024 and every year after that, we will bring together everyone involved in the badminton community to create a fundraising event, in their own part of the world, to make a change in the lives of the children we help through our programs. 💡 The concept is that everyone who is involved in badminton, from top stars to leisure players, clubs, federations, badminton academies, badminton manufacturers, companies, tries to organize an event, during these three days (it can be before or after too!), to collect some funds for our programs. In three days, we can all make history. And have fun, because this is also about enjoying the moment. 🤲🏻 No other sport has launched such an ambitious solidarity event before. But we believe Badminton can, because we know how generous, how caring the badminton community is. We can enter history, all together, and make these Solibad Days a unique experience. And really change the lives of these kids from Indonesia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Rwanda, Congo, Colombia and other places around the world. Who deserve better. 💝 Join us. Anyone can. If you are a badminton leisure or competitive player, you can organize with your friends or badminton club a meaningful event. If you are an employee in a company or institution, organize a team building with colleagues, to make them discover our sport. It’s not so difficult and you’ll be happy. And proud to have done it. More information here : https://lnkd.in/eS-46NGZ IMPORTANT - Please, please share this post on your thread and social media. We need to reach as many people as possible... #solidarity #solibad #badminton #charity #history #bwfbadminton

Handball Coach, Growth Marketer & AI Enthusiast | Building US Handball National Teams | Focused on Systems Building & High-Performance Environments
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐒 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝❓ Ever wondered how USA Team Handball, the governing body for #handball in the United States, is funded? The reality is, compared to other national governing bodies for sports in the U.S., handball receives relatively low funding, and here’s why: 𝟏. 𝑼.𝑺. 𝑶𝒍𝒚𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒄 & 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒚𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒄 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒆 (𝑼𝑺𝑶𝑷𝑪) Historically, USA Team Handball’s primary funding has come from an annual grant provided by the USOPC, around $225,000 per year in recent years. However, this funding has been decreasing over time due to our team's lack of Olympic success. 𝟐. 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑭𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑰𝑯𝑭) Recently, the #IHF has begun providing some grant funding to support #college development efforts in the U.S., although the specific amounts are not publicly disclosed. 𝟑. 𝑼.𝑺. 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 Established with leftover funds from the 1984 #Olympic Games in Los Angeles, this foundation has contributed around $34,000 per year in recent years to support national team competitions. 𝟒. 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 Charitable donations from individuals have been a source of revenue, averaging about $88,000 per year over a recent four-year period. Every bit helps, but it’s still a relatively small part of the overall budget. 𝟓. 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒔 One of the most significant revenue boosts has come from our partnership with #Verizon. While the exact amount isn't publicly disclosed, Verizon's support is substantial for our federation's current situation. 𝟔. 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒇-𝑭𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 In most instances, national team trips for competition have been 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳. This speaks to the dedication of our teams, which are willing to invest in their passion for the sport. Currently, the average total annual revenue for USA Team Handball has been roughly $540,000 in recent years. This is a significant constraint when compared to the budgets of other national sports governing bodies in the U.S. The limited funding is partly a reflection of handball's low popularity in the United States and the resulting minimal support from the USOPC. However, change could be on the horizon. With growing interest and new initiatives, there's hope that more funding and support could be directed towards handball in the future. It’s a challenging landscape, but one that we’re ready to tackle head-on.

Exciting news! Edison has been selected to participate in the 2024 ParaTough Cup Games on March 21st, 2024. What’s the ParaTough Cup? It’s not just any event – it’s the signature fundraising event of the Paralympic Foundation of Canada. Picture a half-day corporate challenge combining fundraising and sport competition. On event day, teams engage in three Para Sports – Wheelchair Basketball, Sitting Volleyball, and Para Ice Hockey, alongside some of Canada’s Paralympians. Did You Know? · The Paralympic Games operate independently from the Olympic Games, meaning any funds raised for the Olympic Games do not benefit the Paralympic Games. · Unlike their able-bodied Olympic counterparts, Canadian Paralympians are not compensated for podium finishes. Canadian Olympians make $20k for gold, $15k for silver, and $10k for bronze. Why Should You Care? Your support directly impacts the future. Through the Paralympic Foundation of Canada’s partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee, funds raised for this event goes towards creating a future where Canadians with a disability are offered ample opportunities to experience the transformative power of sport. The Olympic Solidarity funding pot for 2025-28, which cricket can now access, stands at US$ 650 million, a 10% increase from the pot for the last cycle. Some highlights: - An increase of 16 per cent for athlete support programmes, up to a total of USD 66 million. This will allow more athletes from all backgrounds and from NOCs with traditionally smaller Olympic teams to benefit from individual Olympic scholarships and team support grants. - A 15 per cent budget increase for programmes linked to the Olympic values and initiatives advancing Olympism365. This will support NOCs to strengthen the role of sport as an important enabler for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). There's something for everyone, and it will be fascinating to see how cricket can benefit in this cycle. https://lnkd.in/e4AW3yGz

Despite its global popularity, badminton encounters unique hurdles within our sporting landscape. 🔍 Limited Funding & Resources: Compared to mainstream sports, badminton often struggles to secure adequate funding and resources for infrastructure, equipment, and development programs. 🏟️ Infrastructure Deficiency: The lack of proper facilities and venues for training and competitions poses a significant obstacle, particularly in underserved communities. 📢 Limited Exposure & Media Coverage: Sparse media coverage and low visibility hinder the growth of badminton, affecting sponsorship opportunities and public awareness. 🤝 Talent Retention & Development: Without robust coaching and development pathways, it's challenging to attract and retain talent, inhibiting the sport's progression at grassroots and elite levels. 🌍 Overcoming Societal Perceptions: Breaking stereotypes and misconceptions about minority sports like badminton is essential to foster inclusivity and encourage participation across all demographics. Addressing these challenges demands collaborative efforts from sports organizations, government bodies, sponsors, and the community to create an environment where all sports, including badminton, can thrive and contribute to South Africa's sporting tapestry. A few days ago, the FIVB successfully launched the FIVB Volleyball Foundation. This is an important milestone for volleyball, as our sport, with around 900 million fans worldwide, can now ensure that volleyball contributes to the betterment of society as a whole. Sport has always been an integral part of human civilization, reflecting and shaping cultural values, fostering unity, and providing a platform for social interaction and physical well-being. Recognizing this profound impact, sports should spearhead initiatives that create positive societal change, promoting inclusivity, health, and solidarity. 🤝 In pursuit of solidarity and progress within the vibrant volleyball community, my presidential program aligns this transformative era with the CEV Solidarity Fund. This new dedicated body within the CEV is designed to serve as a support and empowerment mechanism, embodying our shared commitment to the growth and well-being of European volleyball. By embracing these values in our approach, we can collectively ensure that volleyball not only flourishes as a sport but also serves as a powerful force for positive societal change. 🏐 #Vote4Volleyball means #Vote4Society! 💯
